Anyone had to access their roof rack mounting plates in the roof?

My truck got keyed when I broke up with my ex. I'm sorry but after 7 weeks you and your 2 school age kids cannot move into my house and claim residency.... No cameras and I didn't see her do it so I claimed it on my insurance. So my formerly MINT modified 11 Trail with 92k now has a marginal repaint and the incompetent idiots not only returned my truck to me filthy they didn't put the roof rack back on. There are so many issues with the paint I am absolutely disgusted. But one of the rear roof rack mounting plates came loose from the body. I'm guessing I will need to drop the headliner to get to that?

And I have every right to call them incompetent idiots. I work in a restoration shop and we do show-winning paint work. Unfortunately I didn't want to wait six months to get my truck in the booth. Now I just want to get it back together, put it back to stock, and trade it in.

If you search for TRD Pro Rack removal there is a good thread that covers:

• How to take out the bolts carefully so you don't dislodge the plates (too late I guess)
• How to get access to get them back in place.
• Part numbers for stuff if you have to get new ones.

That all sucks, but I've had the same paint problem and the good news is that it can be fixed, and the roof rack is a hassle but also easy to get back to new.

I'm pretty sure 63187-35020 is what I need if it's not down inside the C pillar. I'm not taking it apart until I get the piece. This whole ordeal has been absolutely horrible. There's going to be a really nicely built early trail getting traded in before long. I'm just so absolutely disgusted. Not the trucks fault of course.
