Anyone have single friction bar (anti sway)?

I installed everything yesterday and just had it set as it came from the factory. Is there a key to adjusting these properly? What tightens the bar, loosening the bottom bolt or tightening it? The instructions didn't really paint a clear picture. I drove it for awhile and had no problems, but there was also very little wind and I didn't have to pass any large trucks head on. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a Reese friction sway control, and here is what I do. Although I had to flip it to fit on my A-Frame. I pull a 3,200 lb. pop up camper. You tighten the lower bolt for less sway

Set it as even as you can with the swing arm and the lower bolt(snug, but don't crank on it), then tighten the lower bolt to control.

Here is the tricky part, finding out how tight is tight enough, but not too tight. This is nothing but trial and error. Get out on the highway and hit about 65 - 70 (at least that is where I get sway). If you get no sway but after a turn your not pulling straight then it's too tight. You can look out the mirrors and see the trailer isn't in line like it should be.

And be prepared for a lot of noise at slow speed turns until it gets broken in. And MOST IMPORTANT don't forget no reverse with the sway control hooked up.

Thanks. It's too late on the reverse thing. I backed it into it's home but the bar was fine. The manual just says to have someone watch it to make sur it doesn't hit anything or compress to far. I will take it off next time. I will play with it on our first trip. We'll be stopping plenty of times for gas so that should allow me some time to play with it.

DId you have to adjust yours more than what came stock?

I have the Draw Tite, which is the same as Reese isn't it?
