The prep is car soap and water wash wish a sponge, the rinse, then scrub with soap and a purple 3M pad soft/medium grit. Then rise.
Then dry in sun and with clean cloth. Then quickly wipe with paint thinner .
When all that is done time for primer.
Two coats ten mins apart.
Then Let primer settle for 30 mins then begin coats.
For paint coats allow 10 mins between coats. 2-3 coats. I'd let the final paint coat sit for 20 mins then do final coat of clear. Only one coat of clear is all I did.
These were pretty much the duplicolor instructions.
I did two wheels last weekend, two next weekend. I wouldn't try to do all 4 at once. Its a lot of work just to do two properly. Better to do two the right way than a quick job on four.
The paint will dry to the touch in 2 hours but it takes 5 days to fully cure. That means if you mess up (say a run) and need to sand and repaint - you have to wait 5 days. That is the instructions.j
