Anyone regret changing to TOYOTA grille or black valances?

Grey Off Road here. I see different pictures, and sometimes the stock silver valance looks good, and sometimes it looks like boo boo. I think depending on the color of the 4Runner, it makes a huge difference. Same with the "TOYOTA" grille. White with the black components looks great. I kind of like the grey with the silver valance.

Anyone make the swap and dislike either?

Plasti-dip your silver one. If you hate it, peel it off. If you like it, enjoy it and work on finding a deal on a permanent solution.

I have blacked out headlights on order and my only regret is the only black plate my state offers is the white sox who I dislike

I dipped my valences and put the heritage on my '15 TEP and will be putting a heritage grille on my '20 Venture. I would dip the valence as well but it is already black. Your truck will look great with minimal work/expense.

I vinyl wrapped mine black before switching to the TOYOTA one. It let me see if I really wanted it black before buying the Chinese black one. I really wanted the TOYOTA over the emblem. I also added the raptor lights and didn't like them separate by the emblem.
4x4runners.com has been custom painting their grilles and letters to whatever someone wants.

I've done the TOYOTA grille from China on my white TRDORP, and I've blacked out pretty much everything except for the silver valances. The front TOYOTA and rear 4RRUNNER lettering are both plasti-dipped white on the black background. I had planned on blacking out the lower valances, but I also added the raw aluminum TRD skidplate and I actually like the way the silver valance looks with the skidplate so I've left it as is. I also like being a bit ambiguous what model it actually is, but I don't want to look like I'm trying to make it just clone of a TRD PRO. I put blacked out "TRD TRAIL" badges on the C pillar and get some confused looks.

I bought the factory TRD pro black valance and didn't like how the blacks didn't match with the "TOYOTA" grill/bar, so I went back to my silver valance and plasti dipped it. I prefer matching blacks...

I recently scored a grille off craiggers for $30. I love how it really tones down the amount of Chrome on the Limited. Should have came from the factory this way. Next up is painting or wrapping the roof rails.

Throwing my black Trail Prem in the thread since it still sports the silver valence. OP is right the TRD Pro front end looks best on white. I prefer the silver valence on black trucks.

I would love to color match a C4 slimline front bumper and the rear valance to the wheels. Dometic went with a similar look on their 4Runner builds, but I haven’t seen the look anywhere else.

I replaced my silver one for a black on only because I drove through high water and the spray blew the silver one off. I haven't done the Chinese grill yet, doubt I will, what I have isn't too bad.

Super easy. Make sure to follow the directions on the can - lots of light, even coats.

Thanks for responding, everyone. All your rigs look great. I am debating on going black TOYOTA, black valance, and black wheels. My silver valance has a few chips from driving through brush. That was my biggest reason for doing the valance. I keep staring at photos of peoples 4Runners.

I love the black TRD wheels and apparently they give a tiny bit more poke. Thats appealing. I do like the Off Road wheels quite a bit too. The thing that kept me from swapping wheels earlier was all the nightmare posts I read about getting a shake at highway speeds after new tires, or rotating wheels. I contacted a dealer about putting on the TRD wheels, and he was aware of needing a "collar" on the balancer, and torquing to the right spec to avoid any shakes. That has made me lean towards doing the wheels.

I love the look of your truck. Looks aggressive. This is making me want to do the valance, TOYOTA, and regular TRD wheels in black. What part is that on your hood? From Toyota? Prevent rock chips? Looks great! How do you like it?

For me I think it really depends on the color. Mine is nautical blue, and I wanted black valences and the pro grill until I saw one in person. Personally I think the silver from the valence and Toyota emblem are a nice contrast, but blue and silver are typically complementing colors in design.
