Anyone tried the FJ 3-gauge Pods on T4R?

I was in my friend's FJ and saw the 3 gauge pod (compass, outside temp gauge, inclinometer) he has on the top of his dash. It looks pretty good and I was wondering if anyone here on the forums has tried to swap it into a 4Runner.
I searched the forum and came up empty.

I have thought about it and would like to try it but I haven't seen that pod for sale anywhere and I'm sure it'd cost an arm and a leg from the stealership.

I haven't seen anyone else mount one, I've seen some 1st gen 4r inclinometers on 3rd gens, but i don't think I've seen the FJ or 1st gen ones on a 4th gen.

The hard part would be the data gauge in the middle (it may be just thermometer). it may use the same connector knowing toyota, but there's no telling if it'll work with a 4runner. You could possibly splice in the power and thermometer sensor to this gauge as well... I'd imagine it'll be 3-4 wires.

You may be better off using the outer gauges and an autometer center gauge for oil pressure, trans temp, or something like that.

I like the idea of the FJ Cruiser pods, but I really don't think it'd flow well with the rest of the 4Runner Interior. It fits well on the FJ because everything is so flat and round, but the 4Runner has more curves and slopes.

I got the gauges, wires and mount brackets. I am going to try it to see if it will in fact work. I wanted to see someone else do it first but I guess someone has to do it. Parts for all pcs are about 400 bucks at the dealer.

I know this thread is ancient, but any updates on this? I'd like to change out the center gauge with oil pressure info while using the FJ pods.

Here is a Tacomaworld thread on them. They do NOT use standard gauge sizes and in fact will not house much other than their original intent.

That's helpful, thanks. Too bad it isn't easier. I'd really just like an oil pressure gauge. I was thinking that might be a clean way to do it.

Might look for a single pillar mount. There is also the Scanguage or similar.

Pillar mount is a little scary to me with the airbag. Don't want a gauge launching at my passenger in an accident. I looked at the scangauge and ultragauge, but I'm not thrilled with how they look. Seems like they were last updated 20 yrs ago. All the data is interesting, but at the end of the day, I just want oil pressure and I don't think either actually provide that via OBDII. Maybe I'll get one just to see how I like it.

Well, just in case anyone is wondering, the OEM FJ 3 guage center pod can be purchased from OEMPARTS123.com for $308.11. Just sayin'.
