My mileage is trash and with gas prices these days I need all the mpg's I can get. Any mods or things I can do to get better fuel economy?
anything I can do or buy to improve gas mileage!

Hard to say without knowing more about your T4R and what your mileage is now?
Do you have any MODS done that affected your mileage?

Check/ clean your engine air filter
think about the spark plugs if they havent been looked at in a while
You can try an engine additive or cleaner
I suggest using top tier brand gasoline
Make sure wheels are balanced, aligned
Make sure none of the calipers are frozen/ rubbing on the rotors
Easy on and easy off the gas

Keep up on your maintenance. Regular oil changes, spark plug replacement and make sure the gap is correct, tire pressure, throttle body and MAF cleaning etc. Any mod to your intake I.e. removing the HCF filter or adding an aftermarket air filter or anything to allow more air will also use more fuel. Lift kit, larger tires, tons of extra accessories or weight can also contribute to poor mileage. Driving style can have a lot to do with it as well.
I’m at the point to where with larger tires, lift kit, bumper, skid plates and soon a winch I’ll have to re-gear my differentials. Probably should have already.

Remove any unnecessary weight from the vehicle and if your using off-road / all terrain tires swich to a road specific tire with the least amount of rolling resistance you can find. Give yourself extra time to get places, though it may annoy some people, driving below the speed limit will improve your MPG more than anything and it is free.

Its a 2006 4R V6. No mods, all I got is a spacer leveling kit and wheel spacers.

I thought more air flow made the engine run more efficiently? I have been highly considering a CAI and MAF sensor calibrator but maybe not if itll only make the mileage worse?

Spark plugs seem to be a trend, Ill check those next. NGK is a good brand if I were to replace them right?
This is true. Our 4Runners have the aerodynamics of a toaster. Keeping speeds under 65 helps a lot.

When replacing your spark plugs, make sure the gap between the center electrode and the side electrode is within the range recommended in the owners or service manual 0.039-0.043” iirc. Use a feeler gauge to check this. I installed Denso SK20HR11 plugs and they were within spec out of the box.

Our trucks already essentially have a cold air intake. Draws cold air from the fender well. More air=more fuel=more power.
I bought a ScanGauge 2 a while back. It shows instant fuel economy and really reminds me to dial it back on the throttle. I’m 46 but I drive it like I’m 86 lol.

I would get an alignment first than try replacing air filter and Mike sure your tires are not worn out on one side and not the other. I’ve been using that fuel cleaner stuff from Autozone and I’ve noticed I get a couple miles more per gallon. I also removed my spare tire from underneath the trunk and I also removed the running boards. Hope this helps

Unless your wheels are way out of alignment and running 20 psi and you have 200K plugs and running straight 90W in your diffs/t-case, you aren't going to get any major (1 mpg or better) fuel mileage improvement. Slow down on I-State, use cruise control and stay 65mph or less.
I didn't see anywhere that you mention what your current fuel economy actually is. If your getting like 8 then there's something seriously wrong that needs to be fixed.
I'm getting 18.4mpg on my 32" snowflake rated All terrains.
Tires are a huge factor. It came from my grandmother-in-law with these 8 year old rock hard Michelin M/S2's and got 22-25mpg but I'll take the hit to fuel economy to not slide into a ditch anytime it thinks about raining let alone snow/ice.
Driving 55-65 mph does help a lot when you have the aerodynamics of a toaster. It could be worse, a jeep is less aerodynamic than basically everything including a cow.
