Thanks for the post. I don't see unlock all doors with 1 click though. Am I missing it?

well reading online it says the door has to be open, and unlocked, and you have to insert, and remove the key from ignition twice within 40seconds to let the computer know you want to program a setting, I will give it a shot, with the 3 key hold down and get back to you guys, here goes nothing!

my dealer says they can not make 1 button unlock all my doors on my 2010 Trail. WTF?

Just tried this multible times on my trail with no luck
I also tried this and it did not work. My old Tundra was able to unlock all the doors with one button press, I'm surprised the 4Runner does not.

Mixed results in this thread and many others...smart keys can unlock all doors with 1 press, that part is clear.
I thought that the dealer could program my Trail for the 'unlock all doors with 1 press' with the key type in this picture...but that is not going to happen...sitting at the dealer now and they said nope. Anyone get this to work on this key type?

Nope, looked through techstream when I was customizing all the available options that wasn't available.Mixed results in this thread and many others...smart keys can unlock all doors with 1 press, that part is clear.

that sucks..I've been spoiled with my VW's and having the ability to program basically any option I could think of. The 4runner has some limitations on convenience options...oh well it's not a luxury vehicle

Difference between Smart Key button press and touching handle
I have read and re-read this entire thread, and think I see where the confusion is, and the original issue has not been addressed?
I have a 2016 Limited 4Runner.
I have the Smart Key system (3 button fob - lock/unlock/panic), push button start.
Ignoring the manual key method of entry, we have two methods left:
1) approach car, touch driver/passenger handle, or
2) press unlock on key fob.
Following this method outlined in the thread (not using software, but using the fob to program), it only changes method 1 to unlock all doors on "touch." The fob does not unlock all doors with one click of "button" on fob.
This is very frustrating, as I had a 2016 Sienna, and that option was available via the touchscreen in setup.
I also have a 2017 Highlander, which has same toggle in the setup screen.
I had a 4 door 2003 and a 2 door 2004 Tacoma (manual key and remote fob), and it was programmable via the insert key/remove key, blah blah method to allow for single press of the fob to unlock all doors (both 2 door and 4 door Tacoma).
The 2016 4Runner does not have this option in the setup screen, nor does the fob programming (holding lock/unlock for about 10 seconds, or in the alternative, holding lock/unlock/panic for about 5 seconds) change the way the button press on the fob unlocks the 4runner (method 2 above).
I want the fob to be able to unlock all four doors with one press because I have two young boys. They always run to the vehicle before me, so I use the fob to let them in. Yes, I can press twice and survive. However, it's an old feature and convenient for those who don't walk to the door first (which works under the touch method - 1 touch, all doors open).
So, just for clarity, has anyone with a 2016 4Runner been able to get the fob to open all four doors with a single press of the button on the fob?

My Carista App shows an option for 'Unlock all doors when drivers door is opened'. I have this set to off so the factory fob must be pressed twice to unlock all doors right now.
I don't think it means that when you open the door ( ajar ) it will then pulse the others to open. Carista is a cool App maybe you can try that (but you need a blue tooth dongle as well for the communication at your OBD port under the dash )
I have two remotes mind you, the other is for my Viper Auto Starter. They programmed that module to pulse twice when the unlock button is used so all doors open.

I think it is possible with Techstream. But I can not confirm it at this moment. I messed around with Toyota Techstream software few month ago after I purchased the 17 limited. I was able to get
"Unlock all doors with one TOUCH"
"Long press key fob to open all windows "
"Turn off the echo bar"
I think it is possible, but I will have to try it later to confirm.

And you don't see the irony in your "4 pages" comment?
As well, we aren't complaining about wear and tear on our thumb - that's a pretty mean spirited simplification and misunderstanding of the entire issue.
We are trying to figure out a way to enable a feature that WAS available on all previous models, and was taken away without any notice. By all of us comparing our relative experience, we are trying to riddle out whether or not this previously implemented option is still available in the deeper menus (or options) of the programming in the ECU.

Update on 1 click from FOB
OK, so I have been able to load up Techstream, purchased a compatible cable, and have had the bliss of going through the options and modifying some settings in my '16 Limited 4Runner.
I have confirmed that there is no modifiable setting for allowing the key fob to open all doors with single press of button. Toyota seems to have removed this functionality for some reason. Also, please do not confuse this setting with the ability to TOUCH the door sensor and have it unlock all doors - that's working just fine.

I am using version 12.00.127 with mini-vci J2534 cable purchased from OBDII365.com. I had a newer 12.20.something version of TechStream, but it did not give me the "Customize" button necessary to change these options so I had to remove and reinstall to this earlier version to get the functionality.
Note: If you are planning on setting up a laptop for this purpose, I highly recommend you only use a 32-bit version Windows OS, as the drivers for the cable to not install correctly in the 64-bit OS version and a rather lengthy manual install is required. It's possible, but tedious and not for the casual end user.
If anyone has any recommendations or experiences contrary to what I have posted above, please hit me back on this thread so we can discuss.
Next, I am off to see what I can monkey with on my wife's '17 Highlander with this setup. Shouldn't be much more, I am guessing, since her navigation system allows her much more control over settings natively (as did my Sienna) whereas this my 4Runner give me just about nothing via the navi screen options.

- Disable seat belt nag chime
- Remove the "eco" bar from the center LED display
- Enable lowering all power windows and open sliding sun roof for venting by pressing UNLOCK on FOB and holding (does not allow closing via FOB, however using physical key in door cylinder will open/close)
- Change volume of confirmation chirps for lock/unlock
- Change intermittent timing of rear window wiper sweep
There are many other options that I observed, but did not change.
Unfortunately, I could not find:
- Change blinker to auto blink with soft press (pushing but not "clicking" the stick only flashes blinker for as long as held - another removed feature as recent at 2015 in 4Runner)
- Enable FOB to unlock ALL doors with single click of unlock on FOB (as was available until possibly this model year?) Touching handle is separately controlled and available function.
