Anza Borrego Camp out

Which weekend are you free to go to Anzo

My 10 y/o was trying to sleep the entire time...until we turned around at heart attack hill (we drove in from sandstone canyon) and headed back...some interesting turns/short vertical hills along the way.

Did you come later...up the 79 to S2/San Felipe Road headed to AB? If so, we must have passed each other at the transition...saw another modded mag gray headed that way...

Yes...we were looking for Danny all day and as we are leaving we run across his campsite. That morning we went up Fish Creek looking for him but didn't go past the wind caves...figures.

That was me!! lol I tried to say hi to most runners that came through, just in case.
I don't recall a Mag grey, I was also looking for an impala (I remember someone was going with an Impala)

Where did you end up setting up?

Next time we have to coordinate better, if folks are interested in a group camp. Otherwise, I'm comfortable enough now to go out on my own again.
With the exception of FLASH FLOODS, every group that stopped by my site freaked me out more about flash floods, so How the heck do you predict when thats about to happen? Apparently, doesn't even have to be raining where you are.

Flash floods happen when it rains in the mountains and then all of a sudden here it is. What used to be a dry river bed is now gushing, and i mean fast.

Right... so if there is no rain in the forecast for near by areas, it should be fine?

Dood... you and I had a conversation lol! I came around to your camp around 8:45-9:00. I asked how camping right next to the rock face was and you said it was fine... that there weren't too many riding at night. You asked if I was with a forum/alias. I told you T4R and that I went by Digablekid.

I camped out at a bend after Diablo Drop-off and before the Split @ Fish Creek. I had to double back cause I didn't see a spot as prime as the one I passed up.

We didn't see any T4R's...some heavily modded jeeps, stock jeeps, minivans, prius, mazda, you name it non-4x4.

We only saw [MENTION=75328]DannyLlama[/MENTION] at the end and that was the first/last T4R we saw.

It was actually pretty quiet/not too crowded.

I concur...GoPro studio. It's free and relatively self-explanatory to figure out.

I missed that whole "speed demon" part...lol. In other words we saw a lot:thumb:

^^^you got some balls to set up camp where you did under that cliff and in the bottom of the wash. I saw your truck on my way in but didnt look like anyone was home

Haha yes, but made the whole experience. With my lift and new tires, i didn't have a worry in the world (except going up hapaha flats and up pinyon then turning around going back down! had some :eek::scared: moments)

Also, your extremely clean rig inspired me. I plan to do a full under the hood clean up!

LOL, your truck didn't look like it needed a cleaning. You definitely had a better view. A few times I didn't even realize my rear tire was off the ground - though I did when two were.
