Sounds like we need to post a blockade of 4runners at the slot canyon entrances. "nope, you aren't getting through here today, try again tomorrow"

Any slot canyon could be problematic. Big groups going through Arroyo Tapiado by the mud caves can be problematic, but there are wide areas for turnouts (30 rigs in one might be awkward). Canyon sin nombre shouldn't be much of a problem, and Arroyo Seco del Diablo is pretty much one way unless people come up the diablo drop off or turn around before they get there.

Nice. What canyon is that? I assume it was optional right. The layout of AnzaB makes it so you can pretty much go anywhere and if there is an offshoot it can always be skipped. My buddy with a stock Tacoma still doesn't have sliders (although I told him it is the first mod to spend money on) and he's taken that truck on most of the same trips I've been on.

You don't need sliders anywhere in anza borrego. A stock 4x4 3rd gen could drive the entire park, even the drop offs (which aren't actually drop offs FYI). I've seen Suburu on most of the trails. Rocks .. not so much. It's a desert, not a mountain. Death Valley doesn't even require sliders.

You'll be good to go. Don't worry.

I was thinking about that as well being that it's a 3day weekend for a lot of people. But you're right Al, like the song says MOVE B**** GET OUT THE WAY, GET OUT THE WAY!!!

We're meeting at scissors crossing on S2 so we're a little closer than Julian because they have to come down the Banner Grade, but they're meeting up much earlier than us so plan on having the trail blocked with Subies at some point. We should just kill a couple hours at the Mud Caves or something.

That was the plan, and I can be pretty certain that the route I have planned+our meet up time+stopping at the mud caves( will be around lunch by then) we may miss them altogether.

With two large groups going through, and us far more capable, we either get ahead or we wait for them to make some distance. It's going to be a long day, and I think we've all been there to some degree or another.

I, at least, will have a fridge full of ice cold beer set at 32 degrees while we're not doing a goddamn thing. And my RC truck to tool around with. haha. I'm hoping I don't break anything on it. I've replaced a handful of parts just from mobbing it around the back yard already and bought extras while I was at it.

I had planned the late meet up time for the folks coming from far away, rushing out the door at 4 or 5 am isn't fun. So now we can either meet up MUCH earlier and rush through our route and stops in order to beat these guys or just sit back relax and let them get stuck while we watch haha

And considering the majority of us are camping, I don't think hanging out and relaxing will be a problem.

With camping out we have plenty of time, plus the mud caves can kill an entire day if needed. Guess I'll have to bring out the cooler with built in blender, speaker, and some frisbees! :beer::beer:
