The 12th works for me. The 13th I have a school thing with my daughter in the late afternoon.

My sons only Saturday basketball game is on the 12th, so I can head out of town in the evening and camp then wheel the 13th.

And it looks like it snowed over the New Year.
I don't know how much it'll affect things but [MENTION=68953]jhmoore[/MENTION] told me it was super muddy the last time he visited after rain. Mentioned there were two Jeeps stuck on Fish Creek, I believe close to the Wind Caves trailhead.

we are up for 12th and 13th camping out there, weather permitting. looks like the rain on Saturday is only going to be .02 of an inch, however I have no experience with this area and rain. Probably doesn't take much to make it a mess.

First time I ever went off-roading it was after a good rain. It was muddy but fun. Calcite Mine trail had traction for days, it was awesome. As long as there isn't a ton of rain which poses the risk of flash floods, it should be fine.
If it's next weekend, I can go Saturday and maybe even camp overnight, but I'll have to bail Sunday morning.

Or maybe find snow? Calcite mine is a fun trail. Lower coyote canyon will have some shallow water crossings.

I was looking at Calcite Mine I'm interested in that or I've been looking at Oriflamme Canyon.
Edit- Now that I look it may be a little sketchy up Oriflamme canyon with the rain due to clay and cliffs
I'm up for Lower Coyote and Calcite or other suggestions

Sorry, work & holidays just got crazy. Maybe a little rain this weekend, plus rain earlier this week... might be muddy. And, yes, my first time out Fish Creek Wash (last summer) was not long after rain and we came across a Jeep sunk up to its frame in mud near the Wind Caves.
Are you all talking about the weekend of 12-13 at this point... some can do Saturday, some can do Sunday, but maybe all can camp Saturday night... have a group dinner, campfire (in metal)??

Hahaha we need a leader! JK. So I’m in with fam Saturday to Sunday 12-13. Our plan is to roll out mid day Saturday and leave Sunday sometime not really sure on time. I’m in for Lower Coyote canyon/Calcite mine. Or other suggestions. If we do fish creek I’d like to get into sandstone canyon more as I missed out last time.
