appropriate wheels/tires w/ 1.5/2.5 lift on TE

Hello, all,
I've been lurking here for months. First, to look at a 4R to replace my 2008 Sport (nothing wrong w/ it but wanted a newer one); then, to drool over the mods. you guys have done; finally, to answer questions about modifying mine (picked up a silver 2010 TE two weeks ago).
I just bought a Toytec 1.5/2.5 spacer lift, but want to swap out the current crappy tires and (I think) wheels. I would like a Black Rock Mojave-looking rim. I have looked at the tire fitment guide here and wheel / offset stuff but still am not sure about replacing my tires/wheels, because the shop which will be doing the work is saying that the offset of the wheels I like won't work. Toytec recommends a "0" offset.
I would love to get your thoughts/input if you have a set up similar to the one I'm after: 1.5/2.5, 17" or 18" wheel which is all-black, industrial-looking.
I'm not interested in a super beefy tire. We get some snow here. Looking at 275/70/17s or 275/65/18.

I like these rims with 285/70/17D BFG TA KO - he has the wheel part number listed too.

We get some snow here. Looking at 275/70/17s or 275/65/18.

Stick with 17" wheels if you want better snow traction. More sidewall is better for snow, which is why you don't see a lot of low profile winter tires. If you're lifting 2.5" in the front and 1.5" in the rear (I know nothing about spacer lifts) you should be able to fit 285/70/17 with minimal issues. That size tire will fill out your wheel wells better so you don't get the shopping cart look. Have a look at Nokian Rotiiva ATs. I've been running them this winter and while not super aggressive looking they get the job done on snow and ice.

I have those exact wheels [Black Rock Yumas] and have been super happy with them and really like how they look. I'm using them as my winter wheels and have them fitted with Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V1s which I would highly recommend.

Thanks, everyone. Decided to stick with the 17" wheels & go w/ the Black Rock rim---I'll post a pic. next week after running boards are pulled off, pinstriping is gone, lift is installed and new tires and wheels are on!
