Ya, a trip to the mall on my type of tires can prove to be an adventure (need to find a pic of the car I overrun last year at the mall, or morover, I was driven under)

Not exactly when that photo was shot, but 3mins earlier I had fun.
6 jeeps racin' and I was winnin'!

5 sunk down into the snow/water including me. And I dropped a tire off my wheel. Lol, not so much of a fun... But great experience.

Ok. I'll bet that getting stuck in the snow and ice ain't much fun, but i'll bet it's better than here where we dont get much snow and ice.. at all!! I'm going to come back there to visit and when i do i'll look you up!

Hehe, ya. Well, drivin' with the tires loaded with ice and snow is not so much of a fun!
But yeah, it's fun to drive in snow.

Earlier today I was removing the tires off the wheels and hopefully will get 'em on the new wheels soon.
 
OKAY, long time no see, been busy doin' this and that and workin' my ass off!

Anywho! Got new running boards on the sides of the runner, which actually looks more like runaway on an airport than running boards... lol
Also some mud guards in the front, need to get ones in the rear also.
Got my disc for the hand brake mod on the driveshaft earlier this day, will prolly start to make some brackets for the braker this week...

Added new OME shocks in the front, as the ranchos werent strong enough to handle the load... lol
Didn't start well tho' forgot to tight one bolt and accidently lost one of them "abit" on my way to Thorsmork last weekend, costed me one and a half hour of mixin' a new bolt for it and gettin' it in it's place again!

Anywho, hopefully will add some pics tomorrow, but my server seems to be dead for the moment so we'll see!
Also I need to whip my nephew (whose recently joined these forums!) to send me 'em freakin' videos of hour trip last winter!

He turns the steerin' wheel. :lol:

It's a habit in Iceland to cut the fender flares and the firewall until the tires FIT.

Good thing you asked. lol.
I'll try to add some new pics of my newest project (kind of dropped the rear axle abit...) aswell of my "new" car.

Been VERY VERY busy these days. Work work work and meetings because of 4x4 club (I'm in the rescue party on their behalf) we're also goin' to have a HUGE show (on icelandic scale!) with 4x4s... Next October I think.

Also I went on a walk with the Air Ground Rescue Team of Reykjavik.
Walked 26km the first day and 16km the second day.
The weather was okay, despite the heavy rainin' and wind (10-30m/s)

I'll post some pics of all this stuff soon!

Of course, it took me 2 evenings gettin' it lose. If I werent always workin ALONE it would be alot easier and I'd be pretty much quicker.

Tonight I'm gonna try to clean the Axle housing and start to beef it up abit.

Not all to easy to get these 44s down to the ground.... alone, each piece weights about 140lbs...

Okay okay. The axle is back under, but I haven't had time to put more pics online, hopefully will do so tomorrow. :D
The suspension chosen was.... LEAFS W00T! Got a nice set of leafs from a Dodge ram... Oughta handle the 44s okay. Will post pics of it tomorrow!

Axle moved backwards, 8" (200mm) and repaired (ish) the rust in the body....
Wheelbase I think will be c.a. 113" Hopefully improves stability in slippery condiditons and better ride on rought terrain. :D
So, what'ya all think, Have I gone nuts?

It's a Garmin GPS antenna. =)

Btw, my truck was on a jeep show in iceland last weekend. :D

My truck at the 4x4 show in Iceland. Roghly 130 trucks from various types. All over Iceland.
(Of course, you have to remember that Iceland is a pretty small country... 'bout the size of Texas IIRC)
