Are your tire manufacturers up there the same as in the States? The only company here that I know of that even makes a 49" is TSL with the Irok.
When are you putting the 44" on your 4Runner?

Simple answere. We don't have any tire manufactors here. We mostly buy from America. the 46" and 49" tires are usually Mickey Tomson (MTZ).
But I'm not sure 'bout the 54s. I think they are Super Swamper.
Well, I actually might be lyin' 'bout the tire manufactors. Arctic Trucks (A workshop that does modificiation on jeeps, and sell alot of stuff for 'em) spent alot of time few years ago in designing the perfect (tm) tires for snow. And by god, I think they succeded.
But the tires themselvese are produced in Germany or something...
And when Undanfari's goin' to get bigger shoes, prolly when I have the time to put the steering jack for the front axle, and drilling the steering box, and cutting more from the body, and new fender flares, and moving the rear axle backwards......
(hopefully next week or the week after, lol)

Okay okay, some people here (the very few that reads my threads, because they are boring as hell) were asking when I'd go 44s for good.
Well, here is your answere.
Got my wheels ready this night (15" high, 18" wide, aluminium light weight wheels), put some valves to release the air from the tire. Simply turn the valve and it releases the air. Pretty nice. Will post pics next evening.
Anywho, got my tires from the guy who was goin' to sell 'em, and tomorrow morning I'll go to the tire workshop to get 'em put on.
THEN, cutting, ripping, and well, welding I suppose.
Somehow in the name of Wotan I'll get this done before next weekend!
And you'll be the first to see pictures.
Now, sleep, 4 hours until work, been a long night.

Okay okay, a really quick post (can't really type much, cut my fingers quite bad last evening).
Anyway, so, I decided to put Undanfari on 44s.
It took me 'bout 5 hours.
I don't have much time to post many pics right now, put at least one teaser pic of how it's right now.
I know I need to custom make the rear fender flare and "modify" the front one.
Because there are only two 4runners on that wide wheels, most have 15" or 16" wide wheels..
And the front bumper, well, I need to cut that abit aswell. Otherwise, it's been no problem.
So far, no serious cutting, and no welding at all. So it's fittin' pretty nice.
Ah well, one picture for ya all. Will post more in my gallery tonight. (sorry for the bad quality)

Anywho, decided to "mix" fender flares in the rear, until I can find the molds for the ones I can use. All of the fender flares I've found are too narrow, I need 18cm wide, and I just have found 15cm wide.
Decided to make flares from flares that we use on the axles on trucks and trailers and such like...
And here's the outcome, not beautiful, but works. This is what we call homemade.
Sorry for the bad qualities, still can't find a decent camera for a decent price...

We have maximum 250mm of lift (10") and the flares gotta cover the tire threads.
Also the size of the tires may not be more than 44% of the wheelbase of the vehicle... And then there are lots of other regulations.
Just a sidenote: These regulations actually saved the culture of jeeps in Iceland, they were formed by the Icelandic 4wheeler group F4x4 25 years ago.

10" is still a pretty large lift to me. How much lift is on yours? Is that why you cut away as opposed to doing more lift? Are 44s the biggest you can go on your truck based on the wheel base? I'm sorry that I am asking so many questions, but this is fascinating to me. It is interesting to me to see how the laws work in other countries.
