Are there any lift supports for the rear hatch that work in the cold other than OEM?

Correct. The 4286 are the stock replacements.

Since my post has resurfaced, I might as well give an update.

My replacement lift supports that I bought back in December of 2016 are still working great! I've had no issues with them at all.

They even worked when it was -25F last week.

I got a call from Lift Supports Depot this morning saying they were in stock if I wanted to come get a pair of the 6815’s for $50. I checked Amazon, and they have qty 1 pair available for $59 as opposed to $79 each a few weeks ago.

I’m not sure if this is a new going rate or if their listings will be updated since their stock just arrived today. Something to keep and eye on I guess.

Ugh...mine are getting worse every year. They hardly are even lifting the gate.
I'm just unsure if I want to rebuild these OEM units by a shop in Canada that rebuilds these things or go for the Lift Supports. :/

Thanks for the heads up on those extra support lifters being back in stock. Just installed them and they work great and open the back door all the way up. There are some threads around here that show what nylon or pvc washers you need and you can get them from lowes. They're in the department with nuts and bolts in that specialty drawer section. It makes it easier to remove and install the supports if you can brace the door up with something, and push it up hard and higher than you think it should go. If it's up high enough you should be able to wiggle the old support to know it's not binding. Do 1 side at a time and push up your brace from that side of the door. I used a "c" stand that supports things for my video work. Other's have said maybe an adjustable paint stick. If you're doing it by yourself, push up the door with your skull as you raise your stand. Of course you will need to be at least 6ft tall and on your toes a bit.
