[MENTION=178113]ScanGauge[/MENTION] does this actually require a firmware update or can we just enter an x-gauge command? I'm a huge ScanGauge fan and mine has moved from vehicle to vehicle, if this is just entering an x-gauge command I'm competent to do that on my own without mailing it in.

It does require an update unfortunately. There are some extra functions that were added to the XGauge feature to get the TPMS data workin. It's still in testing, but we're happy to update anyone's unit to this test firmware for free.
Since it's still in its testing phase the update is only available directly from our office in the US. However once it's released Gifford would certainly be where you could get the latest firmware.
Normally we try to have units updated and on their way back the day they come in. It's usually 2-3 days from there.

I just ordered another ScanGuage2 to get this tires function. My previous one was sent in to get horsepower display programmed in. I would probably also like to have that done again if I can. The new one probably doesn't come with a horsepower display function already there out of the box.

I'm not sure if the tire number correlates to a specific tire to be honest. From what I understand with the TPMS programming procedure, any tire pressure sensor can be programmed to any tire number. It's possible there's a specific order that's used when they're programmed at the factory though.
With the update, everything is cleared out as the previous program is overwritten, but if you include a note asking for any particular XGauges or settings to be set before they're being sent back our update team should put them back in for you.
It's experimental in the sense that it's the latest firmware with the extra code needed to access the TPMS data tacked onto it. It's not been fully tested so there's always a possibility (even though it's a pretty small possibility) there could be a bug in there that would need to be fixed. Thus I always prefer to let people know it's experimental in case any bugs are found. Most likely it will work fine and you'll have a unit with essentially the latest firmware which won't require any updates though.

I did a little more research here and it appears the 5th gens do not have TPMS in the spare tires, but the #5 TPMS is in the ECU. Would be good to have for those of use who replace wheels/tires with 5 new ones where all 5 wheels have TPMS and would like to monitor pressure in the spare.
However......our sensors also transmit tire temps (see screenshot below). If you are updating the software for pressure, can temperature also be investigated or added? Just a thought.
