Attn: Scanguage II Owners!

Also when you get to a code like TM1, let it sit there a minute or two. Mine would always start at 14.5 and take a minute to get the actual pressure.

In fact just set them to

TM1 TP1
1TT TT1

That would be 1 tire for all four possible locations. Let it run 5 minutes like that. If one pops in, then set all others to that name TM, TP, et. 2,3,4

I did that and let it run for 5 mins, but nothing is coming up. I’ll try again and make sure the numbers and letters are correct, but I’m pretty sure it is since I triple checked all of them before hitting save.

I was trying to decide between a Scanguage and an Ultragauge. This discussion just tipped the scales.

I just ordered from Autozone. I wonder if I'll get the latest version. If not, then I'll contact the Scangauge folks for an upgrade.

Customer service makes or breaks a company. Great to see that these guys are doing a great job with customer service. That doesn't mean that they have to give stuff away, but it does mean they should be responsive.

Yeah, sounds like it's not communicating. The only other thing would be if there simply were no TPMS generating signals.

ETA: and just to be sure it's not your computer... have you dropped air to below 20 to be sure your dash lights come on? That would be the test from the front side. The lack of readings from the far side. If dash lights good that leaves the cable or software in the scanguage.

Give these two XGauges a try for Transmission Temperature:

Transmission Temperature 1

Transmission Temperature 2

Those should work, but if not just let me know. I believe one reports the pan temperature while the other reports close to the torque converter. I honestly forget which one is which though. The one that fluctuates more and goes up/down quicker depending on the load is like the torque converter reading, while the more stable one that gradually goes up/down is likely the pan temp reading.
Ordered my gauge today.

Are you guys able to get both trans codes to work? Which is pan and which is convertor?

For at least 5th gen.....The link you posted for temperature #1 is for the converter. The second one is for the pan. Yes they work. See the temps on the right in pic.

Ignore the difference in angle between dash and Scanguage lol. My velcro is starting to let loose on one end of the gauge.

This was posted in the link above by scangauge for the converter it didn't work
Transmission Temperature (°F)07E02182 056106820000 3008 00090005FFD8 TFT

I used this alternate one and it worked
:frog:

I tried this alternate but it didn't work either

Any ideas on the pan temp?

The one you got to work is for the pan I believe. The converter is all the same except for 2808 is 3808.

Definitely interested now. Just to confirm this one is the pan?

Couldn't understand the last part about 2808 and 3808. Are you saying the rest of the codes are the Converter?

Thanks,
Kevin

You're the man  That worked.

EDIT: You are correct I had the pan and convertor backwards. Now that I have both programmed I can definitely see the difference

Just for anyone else who want to try, this is what worked in my 2019 TRD OR-P

Transmission Temperature (pan) - 07E02182 046105820000 2808 00090005FFD8 TFT

Transmission Temperature (convertor) - 07E02182 046105820000 3808 00090005FFD8 TFT

I'll test out tomorrow but I'm pretty sure the one that was working was the convertor since it jumped 10-20 degrees on a hill then quickly came back down.

Just tested these ones and found the opposite for my car haha. The 3808 one was the one spiking on the hilla or when the tc was unlocked

Yes the one you list above is for the pan. The codes for the converter and pan are the same with the exception of the RXD. 2808 is for the pan and 3808 is for the converter.

Thanks I corrected my post above for future reference to anyone reading this thread. I only had the one programmed so the way it was changing so quickly I figured it was the convertor but you are correct that one was the pan. Now that I have the convertor programmed it jumps even more. After a longish drive I saw the pan level out somewhat and the convertor temp still jumped around.
Now I gotta put in my order for an external cooler, these temps are too high for my liking.

Thanks Matoolie and the OP for making this happen. :clap2:

No problem. I also installed a external cooler to help with the temps as well. Definitely lowered them. B&M 70264 14,400btu cooler. Search for the thread here about installation of the cooler. You need some extra 3/8" rubber hose for the install.

Thanks for updating the pan and converter codes!

On my V6 4th Gen I had installed a trans cooler pulled from a V8 4Runner because I haul a small trailer in the deserts. I never measured temps so just assumed the cooler helped. As soon as my new 4Runner is past the mandatory dealer inspections I will install the Toyota cooler and try to log some before and after temperatures.

Got my scanguage installed today, it wasn't very hard to program the TPMS into it. I'm very pleased with this product, really makes keeping an eye on my tires easy.

For those who are monitoring transmission temps, do you prefer the code that reads from the torque convertor or the pan? I read in a different thread that it's more accurate reading it from the pan and that it should be 20 degrees HIGHER than your coolant temp.

I added the code for the pan yesterday and tested it today. The pan temp was always around 30-40F BELOW my coolant temp, which was usually between 188-190F.

At what degrees (F) should I be worried regarding:
  • Coolant Temp
  • Transmission Temp

For reference, I have a 2014 model year and the code I entered into the SGII was:
TXD: 07E02182
RXF: 046105820000
RXD: 2808
MTH: 00090005FFD8
Name: cTP

Also, side note: is there a way to have quickly flip through what's displayed on the screen? For example, on one screen, I may want tire pressure readings and on another screen, I would monitor 4 other measurements. It's annoying having to push the buttons X times to flip through the different readings.
