Auto Climate Control Repair Services

No 74#s are a wedge style bulb. They are used in the shifter light, glove box, the key ring.

The OEM bulbs come with the green silicone covers, which you can get for the LCD backlighting bulbs from autolumination.com. They are different though.

It's just easier for the normal person to get the bulbs from Toyota.

Here's their LED counterpart: 3mm for the buttons, 4mm for the LCD

Thx. Are the differences in the bulbs evident when I get the LCD apart or will I need to know which of those two part numbers go where (buttons v. display)?

I need my repaired also. I just PM you. Only the temperature and fan knob, mode button, fan off buttons work. The recirculate, auto, out/t temp, front defrost, and A/C buttons does not work. I have only one light that works.

Hello! I am wanting to have mt CCU repaired, lights are out on it and the temperature dial and fan speed dial are acting all funky. Hoping this service is still available.

I'd like to get my 2000 Limited climate control unit repaired as well if you are still doing the service. My temp and fan work intermittently and often its hard to get the temp and fan set the way I want it.

Yes, he still does the repair and did a great job. Still charges $45 w/o the LED upgrade which includes the shipping it back. Everything is working great so far yesterday and today. I sent it out Monday 1/29 and arrived Wednesday. He fixed it and sent it out Friday and I got it Sunday, a day earlier than the estimated date.

Great service

John fixed my climate control unit, I couldn’t be happier. I had him swap out the lights for LEDs, too. It works like a dream. Thanks!

Well, after working on my latest 4runner's controls I have successfully fixed it. I'll fix them cheaper then anyone on Ebay (I think the cheapest now is $68) I'm not looking to make a lot of money, just want to help some people out and get back a little of my investment on my soldering station (it wasn't cheap) I eventually would like to provide a backup unit for people to use, or just sell the backup and provided I get their unit back. I think DAT does it this way. I also would like to upgrade the unit to any LED color the customer would like as a lot of people are using the LEDs now. I hope to help a lot of guys out with this problem that has plagued these units.

Alright, I've got to give John public credit here. I just sent him my climate control unit, which was "glitchy" and had no lighting any longer. I got mine to him on Friday, and he had it repaired (including lighting upgrade), shipped, and back in my hands on Tuesday. The climate control unit works like a dream now, and I can actually see the display.

Dude- you are da man. Anyone else thinking about doing this, it's absolutely worth every penny, and John is legit.

My turn

Huge shout-out to John! This is an amazing service for us and these Climate Controls. The turnaround was quick, price was right and everything works perfectly.

Thank you John for your time and services. Recommended for all

Looking forward to working Climate Control

I just shipped my Climate Control to John and am looking forward to a working unit! Thanks in advance John! I'll be sure to post with the end results :) Can't wait!!!

John did not disappoint! Installed my repaired unit. Well worth the fee to have perfectly working climate control again!! Thank you John.

John, not sure if you’re still doing these, I sent ya a PM about it. I just happened upon this thread by searching the web.

Thank you to John for repairing my unit. None of the buttons functioned anymore, only the 2 dials worked, and the backlight were burned out. I went with the LEDs, it looks very good so id reccomened that to others considering having it done. Turnaround was super fast too.

Should have done this 4 years ago. Everything is working great. Thank you again.

Hello, I hope this thread isn't out of date but I was hoping to take advantage of your offer of fixing these Climate control issues on my unit. If you are willing, where do I send it. Thank you in advance.

Just got mine back, it works like a new unit... thank you sir!
