Auto headlight ?

Has anyone had problems with auto headlights working during dark (daytime) thunderstorms? I have a 2010 LE, dealer has adjusted timer, and replaced sensor with no improvement.

Headlights

If you mean they are coming on when the sky is dark from impending thunderstorms then that would be normal. Every vehicle I have had with autoheadlisghts do this, plus when I back into the garage and start to put down the door they will also come on unless it is really sunny out. It is just a photo cell like goes in outdoor yard lights. Some will come on sooner than others when the light outside becomes dim. Just the nature of the product.

Just the opposite, the headlights are not coming on when you have impending thunderstorms or a very dark sky. The Toyota factory rep said that is a normal (not coming on in an impending thhunderstorm) and not a malfunction.

Mine are pretty quick to respond. In fact, just passing under an overpass often turns mine on for a moment.

My 2010 LTD does the same. They are very sensitive and i can notice the interior lights dimming (headlights coming on) when driving under bridges or dark sections of road.
