Avital 4105L Remote Start - Headlights

Hello all -

Anyone know if there is a way to program this unit or modify it to shut off the headlights if you remote start and then remote turn off?

Doing this leaves the headlights on with no way to turn them off remote.

I had this installed in my 2014.

On my stock and aftermarket alarm, you can turn the headlights off by hitting the lock button twice. If that doesn't work for you, I suggest checking with your installer. There are lots of programming options on most modern alarm systems. They should be pretty well versed in your particular install.

Once the remote start is used the factory fob does not work until the key is inserted in the ignition. The remote start lock does not turn off the lights with two clicks in this scenario.

If it were that simple I would not bother you folk : )

Installer is looking into it but suggested I post a question here.

He is a very experience installer and a friend.

Have you waited a little while after shutoff? My SR5 turns the headlights off after, oh, maybe 60-90 seconds. And I do not have auto headlights. I *thought* all 4Rs did this.

Yep - they do not shut off.

That's the problem if they went out on their own it would be fine but they will stay on until the battery is dead.

I have had this happen even before the remote started was installed. The lights have remained on after turning off the engine and not clicking the lock button twice.

What I have been told is that if you don't click your factor lcok button twice within a certain period of time then the system for turning off the lights times out and you have to manually do it or start and stop again with the key.

Tell your installer to hook up factory alarm re-arm lt green/wht on the brain to drivers door pin. Sometimes you need a relay if the output is not strong enough.

Better yet, if it has auto position, interrupt the auto wire with a relay triggered by status output. That way the headlights/daytime running lights stay off while remote started.

Any seasoned installer should know how to do either of these options.

Our 2013 SR5 headlights act as Philsey said as long as they are left on. Somewhere around a minute they shut off.

The problem is if you don't open a door they just stay on. So if you have a remote start, and it times out without you going to the vehicle the lights stay on till the battery dies.

hitting the door pin will create a different problem. OEM security might not rearm after shut down. proper way is to interupt the auto lights. white wire Body ECU on dash fuse box, wht 30 pin plug, pin 28.

Better idea, dont let the remote start time out extend the run time to 24 minutes on DEI products, bet its on 12 minutes standard time
