Alright guys, I've been googling, searching forums, asking around for months and STILL have yet to find anything real nice that doesn't cost a million dollars.

Didn't see an official aftermarket bumper thread on here (if it has been done before please delete this), and thought it'd be cool to see all of our options in one place.

So, with that said, what's out there for the 3rd gens in terms of aftermarket bumpers? Tube, plate, prebuilt, weld-it-yourself, etc. Pics, price, ease of assembly/install, and where to buy would be greatly appreciated!

You looking for front and rear?? The least expensive is Savage Offroad for prebuilt. You are not going to find anything cheaper unless you weld it yourself. Unfortunately this is not a cheap hobby.
 
I saw that Addicted Offroad is having a 15% off sale Nov. 20-27, according to their Instagram page.

If that's not inexpensive enough, then you'd have to find used, or talk to a local fab shop or two and get some quotes on what it would cost to have one custom built.

I know there are also weld-it-yourself bumper kits out there too, but I can't think of the fab shop name off the top of my head.

I recall that the Coastal Offroad bumper is like that, requires welding.

I live in southern California and around the off road racing industry and Looking at prices on some of that stuff I would never pay the money plus have to have it shipped to me for what those companies are charging.

If youre interested in contacting a shop that does rad work though search Leadfoot Off road in la verne, Ca they do great stuff but there are also many other places out here that do "affordable" bumpers and rock sliders. Ill be having my friends at Richer Racing do bumpers and sliders for me at some point.

on another note the one of those I looked at on the links above was 86Lbs that's heavy!!!

yes, but you're removing the stock bumper which could be 50lbs so it's not that much more & if you did your lift right you added springs that can handle the extra weight.

I have not scoured the universe of bumpers for 3rd gens, but I did look at a few, and this one currently tops my list. Approach angles might be the best out there. It seems to use some of thickest material too, so strong and rigid. Yet, because it is minimalist, it's not that heavy. There is also an aluminum option, which some might find appealing as it basically cuts the weight in half.

I won't tackle suspension until next year. I'd like to decide what I want there, get that installed, then with the lift known, select bumpers. Learning toward the Sonoran Steel 1.2, but with more research to do...

That's true didn't think about the weight of stock one being removed. I'm mostly looking at doing something like this with a skid plate and hidden hitch receiver behind it

I have no problem going with a weld together kit, but it has to be a good chunk cheaper than a painted complete since I'll be paying out the anus for powdercoating (too much salt over here, HAS to have a good finish).

If I was in the market for a desert style tube/simple skidplate bumper I'd just fab one up myself, but I'm pretty set on plate style.

Currently have my eyes on the 4xinnovations units as they're really close to what I've had in mind. Gotta call them and see what size those round holes and weird hex shaped holes are, I wanna be able to cover them with flushmount LED pods...
 
FWIW, I got the ARB 3423020 bumper from BumperSuperstore.com with free shipping and no tax for $866.40 delivered

It's a tad pricy compared to a few other bumpers, but less expensive than some. My criteria were as follows:
  1. not a million dollars
  2. minimal modification required for install
  3. full plate (not tube or tube-n-plate)
  4. hoops to protect fender and grille (from deer strikes)
  5. capable of mounting a 10K+ winch without cutting my satoshi grille
  6. already painted (cuz extra time and $ to paint sucks in the winter)
  7. had turn signals (no extra shiz to buy and figure out how to do)
  8. looks good
To top it all off, I ordered it on Thanksgiving day and it is arriving TODAY

EDIT: I got a free 2" x 20' tow strap for free

Ordering shackles off Amazon soon too :)

Basically what drove me to choose the ARB :)

Plus the bumper has more than proven itself around the World, a thing no other brand can claim.
