SR5 to LE Back in a 5th Gen After a Short Hiatus
Sold my BP 2011 SR5 earlier this year after owning it for just over 2 years. Figured I'd save some money for a while and buy something at the end of the year. Well I didn't make it until the end of the year.
In last month I've shopped Tundras, GM twins, Rams, F150 Supercrews and Jeep Grands, but today I came back to a 2013 Classic Silver limited. I know the '14s are coming out any day, but said the heck with it and got a fair deal on one of the last '13 LEs in the area.
So far I've driven it under a mile, but looking forward to the keyless, automatic running boards and upgraded dash and center transfer case that I didn't have before. Also the X-REAS.
Even though I now have a black interior, I'm still going to use the tan Husky floor liners I kept (after some minor mods.) Not sure how this will look, but I'll see if I can handle it.
I also kept the cross bars for the rack, but doubt I'll bother putting them back on for a while. Also have the Toyota rear cargo tray I will bring out of my garage attic.
So why did I guy another 5th gen instead of a new Supercrew, JGC, GM or Ram? Really came down to the demonstrated value retention, quality and comfort in a package that will tow the boats I have and return ok gas mileage. For the money could have bought a nice Tundra, but could not get past the poor mileage.
