I found an 80 that's set-up exactly the way I want to finish mine. I even found a set of the TRD wheels that I'm going to try and get this weekend if the guy still has them They're black but I think I will paint them gun metal.
I think this one looks just about perfect
Those clear lens Altezza style lights have got to go... as do the chrome door handles.
I'd probably leave a WTF? note on his windshield.

I found a pic of my first Land Cruiser yesterday. This was back in 1993 with my boys, they're now 25 and 27, boy how time flies. This one was a 1983 FJ60 in that ugly turd brown color but I sure loved that old Cruiser. I bought it on the day that the Blizzard of 93 hit. We had over 2 feet of snow here in east TN and she never missed a beat.

Got a few more pieces to the puzzle today, set of 16" TRD wheels. I'm going to paint the ring black and mount some 315/75/16 tires on them. I also have to order some 1.5" spacers from Slee for them to fit on to the hub. Also have to decide on and buy a lift before the 315's go on. Just more money.......killing my bank account but it sure is fun.

Haven't posted in a while but I've been busy working on the 80. Me and a buddy wound up doing the axles seals. It wasn't as bad as what I thought. I bought the kit from Cruiser Outfitters for less than $250 so even paying my buddy a little and buying the beer, I got it all done for less thn $400, plus I learned a lot myself. I put a new radiator in ( old one was shot ), did the pesky heater hose ( not a job I ever want to do again ), all new belts, hoses, new distributor O ring, oil pump cover O ring, front main seal, new hood latch cable, and new exhaust. I just bought all the parts to tune it up from a MUD member so will start on that this week. If anyone needs some Toyota OEM parts, I have a great connection at South Atlanta Toyota. Kyle saved me about $100 compared to what I would have paid at the local dealer. Also bought a set of WeatherTechs floor mats and since my front seats were shot and the motors didn't work on the power seats, I found all 3 rows from a part out on craigslist for $175. Believe it or not, they were in great shape and the front seats are manual so no more power seats to tear up. I took it to the paint shop yesterday to have the fender flares clear coated, had the hood painted, and the old ARB bumper will hopefully look brand new again. After I get it back I'm going to do the tune up and get to work on my mods. Will be ordering a new OME 2.5" lift kit this coming week, 1.5" SpiderTrax spacers for the TRD wheels, and then thinking about getting some 35" tires. I'm a little concerned about the 4.11 gearing with the bigger tires but I think I'll give it a try and if I have to, will bite the bullet and order some 4.88 gears. I would rather spend that money on a rear bumper but I may not have a choice. If I lived in an area that was flat I don't think I would have a problem but it's all hills and mountains here in east Tennessee. I'll post a pic tomorrow when I get it back from the paint shop with the ARB on.

I picked my rig up this evening from the paint shop and my buddy even installed my ARB for me. He painted the hood and blended everything in so it wouldn't stick out like a sore thumb. He even painted my pinkish colored side mirrors and clear coated my front flares that were starting to peel. $400 for everything, couldn't be more happy with it.

Great looking and these are really nice. Like driving your living room down the road for comfort. I have a friend that did a custom dual hood scoop on his that looks like the 4runner sport hoods except its a dual and his is lifted with all kinds of mods. His is the 1997 Anniversary edition so not sure if that is a 80 or a 100 buts its sweet. If I get a pic I will post it up but he lives aways from me now. Can't wait to read and see what else you do. Like your 4Runner also!

Thank you, I appreciate it. Yes, the 1997 is a FZJ80. I just got a shipment notice today that my OME lift left Cruiser Outfitters so she should be lifted within a couple weeks. Been doing a lot of work this week and got the snorkel installed today. Right now I'm tire shopping and think I have decided on the General Grabber AT2 in 315/75/16. Seems like a good tire and like supporting the guys at Expedition Overland so they will keep making videos. Will post another pics in a couple weeks and she should look a lot different.

Great keep me in mind on the Springs for my 4Ruuner. What size are yours?

They're just the factory springs but from what I've heard, they will lift a 4runner 2 or 3 inches compared to stock 4runner springs. They will be cheap. Will also be selling my FZJ80 wheels which I think look great on 4Runners. I have a 1998 SR5 4Runner but plan on selling it soon so I won't need them. I'm going with the TRD simulator beadlocks that I have posted above.

A good friend on mine bought a printer to do decals and he designed this one that he put on his 2005 Taco. I think he's going to sell some if anyone is interested, I'll get you in touch with him. He can basically do anything you want. He's doing one for my Land Cruiser that I will post soon.

OK great! When you ready with the Springs let me know and I'll get them. Those TRD Beadlocks look so stout....really like them alot! The Snorkel looks good also. That will be one nice ride when its done. Keep me posted and add pics when you get more done!
