Battery Replacement

My original battery in my 2002 T4R lasted 11 years. Yes, 11 years. In Colorado's hot and cold extreme weather.

Can't ask for more than that.

Thanks for reminding me that my Runner is now a little over 4 years old with 151k miles on it and I have not replaced the battery yet.

I just ordered an Odyssey battery and spacer, hope it arrives before OEM battery fails. Because now that I know its subject to fail any moment, I will be thinking about it every time I start up.

It finally came, fits perfect with the spacer.

Battery upsize

I happen to have a group 65 battery. The old ford just wore out and the battery is a year old. It will fit in the tray and has 990cca.
Any reason not to put it in, as the Panasonic is ten years old.

It sounds like all replacement batteries need a spacer or new tray. Is this true or is the 24F a std drop-in replacement?

Well I'll be - - I didn't even know I had a Panasonic until I just now looked!

Truck 4 years, 6 months old; 72000 miles. Battery still going strong.

71k, original battery at 4 years old, still going strong. I might add I park in an insulated garage, so the time it's parked at home, is not exposed to extreme temperatures. Our garage does not freeze. IMO this can make a difference in battery life.

On my 2001 SR5 I replaced the battery every 5 years as preventative, Texas summers are not kind and didn't want to be stranded. Will probably do the same on my 2016 SR5. On the other hand my Accord battery only lasted four year and destroyed the battery cable in that short time period.

Mine's 7 years old but I spend a lot of time in 100+ degree desert temps so I'm paying close attention for warning signs.
I throw my battery tender on every month or so and it usually goes into maintain within just a few hours.

So anyone know the answer? any group 24F battery is a drop-in fit?

i replaced mine in December. it'd been in the vehicle for just over 7 years... figured it was time.
