Bay Area meet and greet...and wheel

I'm good that weekend either day. No overnights, cause I try to put my 14 month old to bed everynight.
I'm cool where ever not affraid to be on the road well before sunrise to get to trailhead.:cheers:

Lol, I'm fresh out of those shoes, my daughter is 3 and this will be the first time I am away from her for more than 24 hours. I think I may go Friday and camp if we end up doing Hollister, just to get a spot. There is still time to figure things out.

Is Hollister dog friendly? I plan on bringing my trusted companion Buster along for the ride.

Im down that weekend. I Do not want to go to hollister!!! I would say more out east like ice house road or cherry lake. More nature and fire roads with optional wheeling off the sides of the road. Tons off open free camping with lakes and rivers!

I live in the santacruz mountains, Buzzards lagoon is not a real wheeling spot. it used to be before all the local hippies started putting nails and other stuff to pop your tires on the trail (this was before park rangers got involved). i guess they had a reason to, all of the highschool kids (me once) go up there when it rains and tear it up. i could show you guys up there, it has a couple good sections. havnt explored to much up there. The real place up in the mountains is nisene marks. may as well go exploring in my back yard

Subb'd. Interested, but It seems a 3-4 hour drive is mandatory if you want to get more than Hollister.

Another area is Mendocino NF, but again 3hrs

I'd love to do something in the real mountains but this time around I can't travel 3 hours away. I need to stay somewhat local. I will however set up an other meet, if this one is a success, more towards the national forest areas. So, if your willing to bite the bullet this time around and deal with good old boring Hollister and hang out. Great!

I may meet up. Also have a home in SF, & come down to SJ alot, grew up in Sunnyvale. Never been to Hollister, in fact have only been to Prairie City. Def up for more backwoods stuff eventually, but if Hollister is best for this round, I'll try to come hang out for the day.

If nothing works out we can do chrissy field. i rather go to eagle lakes than hollister closer for me too. 2 hours but i really don't wanna drive far, 1 hour drive is my limit, also im out for hollister that place is so dirty, ugly and boring to me.

Same here; if I'm going to spend the day away from my kid I want to go somewhere I haven't been before. Spent a lot time in Hollister but on a moto. I know the car area is sperate, but that place gets nutty on the weekends. At any rate I'll be following this thread to see where it ends up.:wave:

Looks like we have 6 intrested in going to Hollister, could you guys PM me so that I can get a list going. Same goes for the 2 that are intrested in Santa Cruz mountains. But I think that it will be Hollister for sure that weekend. So PM me and we will work out details.

I, personally, will probably camp on Friday and for sure on Saturday.

To the rest who are suggesting other areas, maybe next time. I'm not ready to venture 1.5 to 3 hours away from Bay Area just yet.

I can make Hollister no problem, but I agree it's been played out. I think starting with somewhere close and mild is best for all the stock and 1st time wheeling guys. After that we can venture out and plan something bigger. Plus in the summer we will have good weather and can camp easier.

Bump...Anyone else want to join us in Hollister? Jun 2nd, camp Friday and Sat if you want. Us beginers sure wouldnt mind having an old timer or 2 show us the basics.
