Best Brake pads to for 04Runner - 2018 Edition

Hi Guys,
i did a search earlier on the best brake pads and noticed that the last post was in 2012. I know a lot has changed since. I will like to get your opinion based on the product we have on the market. What will you recommend based on what you have used? Ceramic? Semi-Metallic, OEM or organic? Price is a big deal for me. Also note, I use my car mostly for town/highway driving.


i am considering these (Leaning more towards the ACDELCO cos of the price.

I'm in the same boat as you, I would very much consider buying new rotors also.
To me its not worth turning the rotors which should be done if reusing, just buy new rotors and pads at same time. Amazon or Rockauto has kits for under $150.

FWIW, I have a little less than a thousand miles on new Power Stop Z36 pads & rotors and highly recommend them.

Ive been running the centric rotors and akbono pads with from 5th gen upgrade combo for a few years, no complaints however this time around i ordered all the power stop severe duty. heard nothing but good things so far.

Also upgrading all lines to stainless braided

Got this exact setup and I recommend it. Not crazy expensive, still good quality.

thanks a lot. Did some reseach. Powerstop seems to be very good. But i dont use my car for towing or offroad stuff. Mostly use it in town driving etc
