Let's not get hung up on semantics here. You can call the group of motorcyclists whatever you want, but I too have a hard time believing that people make these kinds of choices. Don't get me wrong, I feel awful for both the driver of the SUV and the guy who might be paralyzed. I wish none of this would have never happened, but it just goes to show how important it is to make good choices and when faced with problems like this. We should always do everything in our power to deescalate the situation. I like motorcycles a lot; I respect the motorcyclists who obey traffic laws and I do my part when driving my car to leave extra room for them and to be extra observant. On the other hand, if I had a wife and child in my car and was suddenly stopped and surrounded by these people, of course I would feel threatened. Bottom line, I wish people would show more compassion towards one another.
