Nice man, looking real good. I have a silver 08 and plan on going kinda the same route as you. Can't wait to see it with the lift. You plan on plasti dipping the fj wheels black too?

Thanks man, Ive actually been thinking about doing the FJ wheels in anthracite grey and keeping the silver/machined ring around the outside by the bead.

The daystar lift it really just a temporary fix for some ground clearance until I can afford the coilover lift I want.

Thanks man, Its more of a temporary fix until I can afford the suspension kit I want. It took me a while to figure out the best possible way to do it, and the instructions that come with the kit suck. once I had some help with an experienced person who has done it on these trucks before, we flew through it. If he was there from the beginning the whole job can be done in under 2 hours easy.

I will get bigger tires eventually when these tires die. They are very good tires so not worth getting rid of yet.

And after a few months of Prep, thanks to advice and inspiration from some forum members, I finally was able to bring the runner to Rausch creek Offroad park in PA and really test it out.
I gotta say, these trucks far surpassed my expectations, keeping in mind im basically stock except for some armor and daystar lift. I cannot wait to go back with upgrades and push the limits even more!

Looks like a fun run! I didn't even know you did the DS lift? You pry told me and i forgot, how are you liking it now with a little more clearance, probably a big difference from the last time you were there.

Yeah a few weeks ago I did the daystar right after I did the budbuilt skids.. the combined weight of the crap I carry, the sliders and the skids was just putting me way to low to try and drive over anything offroad. So I went for it. Actually thats why I messaged you a few weeks back to see if you still had that spacer lift. lol.
Ive never been to rausch before this was the first time for me so I have nothing to compare it to, but I can say I finally got to put the truck in 4lo and see what its made of on the trails. between the 4lo and the v8 it feels like a tank. It was also nice knowing I had the added protection of the skids. After the first couple of solid hits I stopped caring. I cant wait to get some actual offroad performance upgrades on here like tires and suspension stuff... My confidence has grown now so im sure next time I go im definetly breaking something lol

Nice, yeah i think i remember you asking something about installing them or something. That's good though for now, at least you get a little ground clearance cause the 4th gens has the worst ground clearance stock out of all the generations. Plus i wheeled the crap out of my springs and spacers just because these trucks are so capable to begin with. Oh really i thought you went last year? Well anyways that's cool i'm glad you finally got to get down there and test out the truck! Yep the more you build it the better it gets and the more the addiction grows haha it never ends, but hey we could have worse addictions.

Picked up a set of 5 jeep rubicon take off's with less then 800 miles on them. Mounting on my '13 trail wheels soon.

My 1 year old front brake calipers already surface rusted over, from beaching it all summer and living in the northeast and it was bothering me. Gave them a little refresher with caliper paint. It was easy enough to do, id do it once a year to keep them new looking.

Starting to look over everything before I go back to Rausch creek at the end of october. Planning on doing a CV reboot with boots from SDHQ.

Cant wait to get rid of xreas eventually

Doing some fall maintenance..

Today with great help from a friend and moral support of others,
I Removed, Regreased and Rebooted the driver and passenger CV axles.

For Grease I used military industrial grade synthetic grease.
The boots are heavy duty off road boots from SDHQ.
Its not a hard job at all, but extremely messy.

I replaced the two down stream 02 sensors.

I changed the front diff fluid to mobile 1 synthetic.

Couldn't get more detailed pics, very messy job to say the least.

Part number for the boots? I'm about to replace both of my cv axles but I'm going to keep and re boot the stock ones for later on down the road.

It has been a while since i've done anything but drive it, Because winter and I got a new job. Im doing Sales at Mazda if anyone is in the market for a car around LI!

Anyway, Ive hit about 120k and The front wheel bearings basically started to self destruct to the point that they became so loud I was scared to drive. This took about 3 months of ignoring it to get to that point.
I Ordered the wheel hub kit from NJ636. Great product! Fast shipping!
Easy job, took a few hours going slow and taking breaks. Rides like a new truck!


This is one you do yourself. Difficulty level out of 10. was about 4.

A few days old already but:

Picked up the truck from Riverhead Toyota with my newly installed dash, which came out perfect. Transmission fluid Drain and fill. Probably first time it ever got it. Had them look over the entire truck and make a list of recommendations. Came back with nothing to note. Also just hit 120500k..


Plans for the coming weeks ahead and warmer weather:

- Oil change and installation of Fumoto drain valve and tubing.
- clean and inspect diff breathers
- Change Transfer case fluid to Mobile 1 75w-90
- Hurculiner Bedliner everything under the truck
- Recoat Budbuilt skids and reinstall
- Full Detail interior and exterior
- Need new center cap for 2013 4runner Trail wheel

**- Continue extensive never ending research for suspension overhaul **
- Do the OME BP51 coilovers fit the 4th gens?
- Still hooked on Radflo 2.5's for the front
- Considering allpro 3.5 springs for rear with some other shock.
* Taking further suggestions!

Oil changed
Fumoto oil valve installed with hose extension
Transfer case fluid changed to mobile 1 75w90
Greased driveline and swaybar bushings
Rust prevention and under body paint touch up
