Bilstein 5100 - .85 Pic`s

This is exactly what I wanted to do with mine (2.5" setting front, OME 895e rear and on my Limited as well). This is probably a stupid question, but could the reverse rake be caused by the weight of your bumper? Also, do you think there are specific springs I could use for the rear instead of having to add spacers? Thanks in advance, I'm pretty new to these things.

By the way, which size are your Ridge Grapplers?

The rear bumper weighs 130 lbs or so per Coastal Offroad's shipping label. I didn't actually weigh it after welding it together. I'm sure the bumper doesn't help, but it was almost 3" higher on the nose before swapping springs out and adding the spacer.

Icon makes 2 different rear springs that i know of. I want to say the 52800 is their 3" lift spring, and mine are their 2" version. I grabbed these from a neighbor across the golfcourse just to see if they would work vs the OME 895e. If buying new, I would grab the tallest spring due to the rear bumpers added weight.

I run 285/70r17 on Fuel Kicker 6 17x9 +1 Offset

Thanks for the response.

Do the 5100s help with nose dive? Or would you need front non-OEM front springs to help with that?

I lowered the fronts down one notch to the 1.75 setting with the OME front springs today. You can see it still sits just a smidgen stern heavy. I plan to build a full replacement bumper for the front and add a winch, so in my application I think it will level out perfect. It definitely doesn't seem to bounce as bad at low speeds with less pre-load on the front now. If you don't plan on adding a bunch of weight to the front, I would highly advise sticking to the .85 setting as many others in the thread have suggested. Just wanted to update you since I decided to drop the front this morning.

.

Finally got my Four 5100s installed and could not be happier w/ them!

Went w/ .85 and no spacer in the rear - running factory springs front and rear.

While each 4Runner seems to sit a bit different, my 20 TRD ORP appeared to have an excessive factory rake. I was concerned the .85 would not be suffice; however, it now sits perfect.

Yes, my factory nose-dive is no longer an issue (or near as obvious) after installing the 5100s.

Glad to hear. This is the route I want to take with my '19 TRD ORP.

This angle minimizes the amount of rake still present. I think I’m moving to 6112s and a 1” rear spring to slightly increase the lift and reduce the rake a little more.

In my opinion, these 5th Gen 4Runners are a bit deceiving because the rear fenders are cut higher than the front.

If the fender openings are level, the vehicle will be doing the ‘Carolina Squat (sagging in the rear).

When properly leveled, the frame rails and roof line will be level, but the rear fender opening will be about an inch higher than the front.

Agreed, and at .85 up front and stock rear the frame isn’t quite level. I’m allergic to the Caroline Squat and obsess over minor details, so I’m confident it needs just a hair more lift up front to be perfectly level.

I should leave well enough alone, but the 6112s will let me make smaller adjustments and compensate for the drivers side lean.

Just did the install with a buddy over the weekend. 5100 all around, 0.85" front / stock rear, factory coils. I am absolutely ecstatic about the ride quality. Feels like I traded in my '87 hoop-d for an actual 4runner.

Here is before/after

Looks great and I felt the same way!

Hands down, this is the proper set-up for a 4Runner!

Here's my contribution...5100's on all 4 corners, front at (you guessed it) .085 with the stock springs and T13's in the rear.

After a few hundred miles, the front is maintaining a 1 inch lift while the T13's are sitting at exactly 1.5 inches in the rear.

The front still feels a little soft for my liking...thinking of going the OME 883 route.

2020 SR5P. 5100’s on all four corners with stock springs. Front set to 0.85”.

Ride quality and control is amazingly improved. If I had to put a number on it, I’d say it got rid of 80% of the nose dive. Keeping in mind it’s a 4 wheel drive SUV. May have to do something with the lean, eventually.

In garage top of wheel opening, before.
Driver front 34 5/8”
Pass front 34 7/8”
Driver rear 36 3/8”
Pass rear 36 1/2”

In garage top of wheel well, after @ 0.85”
Driver front 36”
Pass front 36 1/4”
Driver rear 36 1/2”
Pass rear 36 3/4”

Frame DF 14 1/2”
Frame PF 14 3/4”
Frame DR 14 1/2”
Frame PR 14 3/4”

Download of photo’s is failing. Will add once I figure it out.

Bilstein 5100 front and back, stock coils, front set to .85

Nose high when trunk is loaded specially while driving, my truck is pre-loaded with 3rd row seats and with passengers in the backseat I'm ridin with a reverse rake. So I might move the front to 1.75 and change to longer rear springs along with 275s tire upgrade. Or, I might try airbags for my rear coils to help with rear cargo weight during outing trips.

I've got a question for the ones that have installed the 5100s. I recently installed my lift and not fully happy... what i have is a 20 off road, I ordered the toytec springs with their lift coils. The ride is amazing, but it sits A LOT higher than advertised. I ordered the T13 coils which advertise 1.5" at the back, and the coils and struts say 2.5/2.75 at the front, which i cleared with toy tec using their .25" spacer for just a little more to make it level. I started out with a rake of 2.25", now i have a - rake of just under an inch. I have drove it and drove it hard to get it to settle, but even taking out that little spacer wont make it even.. should I drive it more to see if it will drop?

Hi guys. I had the 5100’s on my Pro-4x Xterra and was considering them (when back in stock) for my 2018 T4R SR5 4x4.

I currently have 1/2” for 1” of lift Cornfed spacers up front on my 4R. Would it be ok to set the 5100 at the bottom clip and use the 1” Cornfed spacer to achieve the lift height? Is there any benefit to using the spacer for the lift vs the bottom circlip setting?

I personally would get some lift springs with them. If not then just remember raising the clip lifts based on adding preload to the springs. The more preload you add the spring thinks there's more weight riding on it which will give a harsher ride.

Bilstein 5100 on 2019 TRD Off Road Premium w/ KDSS

Love this set up, front set at second notch and stock rear with Bilstein B8 5100. Actually lifted the front 1 1/4" on both sides and I do not see any lean. She looks good and I am stoked.
