Bilstein: tundra front adjust. strut and oem coil?

Well I am about to order a set of bilstein adjustable strut and rear shocks.

Fronts will be tundra shocks. I would like tundra trd springs, but dont want to spend that kind of money to spare at the moment. seems tundra springs are more expensive than OME.

I am looking for a plush well handling setup.

Will the oem springs work well with the bilstein shocks?
I will adjust the shock an inch or so and add spacers to level the rear.

Anyone tried this?
Any other place besides wheelers.com that has better prices?

What year is your 4Runner and how many miles are on it? With my previous 99 4Runner I ran the Tacoma 5100s on the second notch and a 1.5" Daystar spacer in the back and it was okay. The Tacoma 5100s were too soft for my taste, so I'm guessing that the Tundra 5100 would ride well with the factory springs. If you are planning on upgrading your springs at some point then you'll be fine for a while. However, if you are planning on running this setup for a long time your factory front springs will sag from being preloaded. The rear running a spacer isn't an issue at all.

I just installed TRD Tundra coils and 5100s up front and 5100s with OME 906s in the rear on my 02' model and it's fantastic. The front is a PITA to do so I'd save up the cash and do it right and do it once. I found the springs online for about $275 shipped which wasn't bad.

There's a guy on here that posted in my "2" lift on a 3rd gen" thread that said he got about 2" using Tundra Bilstein 5100s with the stock 4Runner spring on the 3rd of 4th notch. The problem with that is it's close to getting the shock out of it's sweet spot for ride control.

I did find a set of TRD springs at a salvage yard for $150 if that helps you any you could do that and save some cash. They had 112K on them and in my mind it was worth another $125 to have brand new ones.

I ended up with 1.25" lift in front and 1.5" in back. Keep in mind that the 99 4wd springs are the tallest of the factory springs to begin with.

That is a nice lift.. It is what I aim for.. I just ordered the Tundra 5100 adjustable and rears.

any recommendations on rear springs? I was thinking ome 906? If I cant find a used set of tundra trd springs, Ill probably use the oem ones for the front.

Did you add a spacer or lift for the rear?

I dont want to use too high of a perch for the front strut.. I want the strut to work in its maximum preload. I wish there was specs or measurements to find that the good spot.

I am trying to order a pair of these 5100s for my runner here in canada. the part number i found when i searched this site is f4-be5-6929-h1.

these are the closest i can find to order in canada, are they same even though the part number is h0 instead of h1? would like to order them asap so hopefully someone knows. thanks in advance.

Your guys lift looks great.. Is the rear 906 too stiff at all? IE.. well mannered enough for a pregnant wifey to sit in?

With the 5100s the 906s I just installed ride like a Cadillac. It's more comfortable than stock. I was on a rough dirt path at a bond fire last night and it even rode great. We traveled about a mile back in to the woods and none of the other SUVs could travel at the same speed as I could and I didn't even notice.

You used the oem stock coils up front correct? If so what setting did you adjust the front? Pictures?

I just added the 906 rear springs to the order.. Im not sure if I have time to install this weekend.

I don't believe so. It's just a shock swap since you're using stock springs.
