anthracite grey plasti dip would look good

I wouldn't use Plasti-dip in headlights. You need a more permanent paint. You don't want peeling after sealing the headlight.

Yeah I'm not sure plasti dip would be a great idea either. I'm thinking like a flat or satin dark grey. or maybe a chrome gunmetal if i could find it.

My original plan since I have the dark gray shadow mica was to do a gun metal or dark grey, but I ended up getting already painted satin black headlights. I would love to see someone do a gunmetal

So is 200 degrees the magic number for the oven temp? at a preheated temp is the oven left on? Or do you turn the oven off before placing the lens in once it preheats?

Yep, 200 degrees was perfect for mine. Preheat the oven all the way, leave the oven on and bake. 8 minutes should be enough to get the glue apart.

I did 200 and it wasn't enough so I did 225 for 10 and it was perfect. I'm waiting for the paint to dry before I put then back together. How long odd you wait? Oh here's a teaser

Im wondering if you noticed much light loss by doing it? I really like the brightness on my lights as I have some night vision issues. Did you lose much from what it was originally or not even noticable to you?

BTW. anyone else having veiwing issues on this page? I keep having to slide the page side/side to see it? I adjusted the zoom ect.. but its still messed up even at around 50%? Just this page it seems or is it on others too? Is it my vision screw'n with me since Im talking about it being bad? lol :suspicious:

Looks like Ive got another thing to add to the to do list during spring break. Will be plasti-dipping my wheels at the same time.

...The last bolt is a pain in the ass, you'll have to go under the front bumper, and its way up on the outside part of the headlight. You won't be able to see it, but you can see a part of the grey headlight holding onto a bar. If you stick your hand up you'll feel two bolts, the highest one up is the one you'll need to undo. Get your socket wrench and take that sucker off...

Okay, I've been trying to get this last bolt out and I simply can't get it off. I've tried using a screwdriver head and a 10mm socket and I can't get either to seat on the bolt so I can unscrew it.

Any tips so I can be successful?

I'm trying to get the headlights out so I can do the Mini Morimoto RetroQuik Xenon swap.

I considered taking the front bumper off so I can get access to that bolt... but I failed at that, too. I referenced the .jpg file here and the fail happens at step 2d in the Removal section. I'm sticking the taped screwdriver into the seam and prying it open (pushing down a little... creating probably a 1cm gap or a bit more) but I don't see how it's going to release.

Anyway... if anyone has any tips I'd be grateful... I have tomorrow to get this done. Or if you live in the Edmonton (Canada) area and could help me out that'd be super awesome and I'd have to buy you pizza or something.

Wow this is awesome. Was just about to spend $200 on new headlights. Considering doing this instead!
