Blackstone oil report

I'll be doing this from day 1 on my 2016...I'm not known to keep vehicles longer than 4 years but this one I want to hold on to. How many of you have sent in a baseline sample with fresh oil?
Do the Toyota dealers normally give you any hassle about collecting a sample when performing the oil changes?

I'm glad to see other 4runners are showing higher copper readings as well and then they start to dip after a lot of miles. I have sent off 2 used oil samples to Blackstone and both have came back with copper in the high 40's and high 50's. I just sent another sample off this week. I'm hoping to see slightly lower copper readings but I'm not too concerned about it. My 2015 4runner has around 31,500 miles on it now. The sample sent in had around 5,200 miles on the oil.

I use Butler Cat in Bismark, ND. Very fast turn around and I trust Cat. Best bet is to get an oil sample collection pump. The collector bottle screws into the pump. Very easy. Just do it before you take it for the oil change. It's also good to wait for the sample results to see how the oil's doing. In two or three days after sampling, you can review your report and determine if you want to run the oil further or change it.
Also, Bob Is The Oil Guy site has many virgin samples as a baseline. However, most good labs take your oil brand/viscosity into account when making a recommendation.
I just got my latest used oil analysis back. It wasn't what I was wanting to see. My copper has went up with the last two oil changes. I want to see what you all think about this report and if anyone has had any similar findings with their analysis. I may take my vehicle out to the local dealership next week to see what they think. I'm currently sitting at close to 32,000 miles.

Has anyone had their differential fluid or TC fluid analyzed? I see a ton of guys changing theirs out but Toyota has this as a 90k service and the TC could go longer but they offer it as a package: 4x4 drive line service. If it is out there or on this thread and I looked over it I am sorry for asking.

How are most of you guys retrieving oil from the engine to send for analysis?

I installed a Fumoto valve in place of my oil pan drain bolt. I just flip it open, wait 5-10 seconds (with oil fairly hot), and since it faces straight down I just tip the collection bottle about 45-degrees and quickly move it under the oil stream. Reverse when it's about full and cap it off the collection bottle.
I'm about to send my 3rd sample into to Blackstone and will probably post that result here for others to review/reference.

Just ordered my kit to analyze the oil currently in the pan following my mystery oil leak, and subsequent disappearance of it following it's trip to the dealer. I want to make sure that they didn't put an additive in it to seal up any leaks and not tell me about it. Call me paranoid....

Where exactly are you extracting from with the pump? I have a pump but could not see where I could tap in to pull some out. I had the dealership grab a sample this time during the oil change. They were fine with doing it and gave me no hassle but I would have preferred to grab it myself.

My first 10,000 mile oil change
Here is my fourth Blackstone Labs report, after running Mobil 1 AFE 0W-20 for just a tad under 9,500 miles. (I forgot to order more Amsoil filters and had to use an STP during this change - hopefully it'll hold up for another 10,000 miles).
This is the first TBN measurement I've requested; if you run 5k miles for your OCI I don't see any need to request it (it's costs extra). I did not have Blackstone Labs check new Mobil 1 AFE 0W-20's TBN, so I don't know where it is at when new, but at 4.4 the Mobil 1 could definitely go a bit more than 10k miles.

Nice! Always good to read. Mobil lists the TBN as 8.8 for new AFE 0w20, so it appears to hold up well.
