Blower Fan Problems

4k on the 2011 and the blower fan is making a high frequency noise that is annoying the hell out of me. It can be heard most when the fan is on low and somewhat gets muffled when it's on high.

Anyone else have this problem? I did check the cabin filter and all loots good, the fan spins freely.

I know it's the blower fan because when I turn it off it goes away.

Nope, and we just went through -20*C to +20*C in a few days.

What I'm looking here is if anyone else hears this noise or do you only hear air blowing and are unaware of the blower fan itself.

If this isn't common I will be letting me dealer know for my next maint. Interval

Sorry. I just hear air velocity not the actual fan.

Probably a bad bushing or bearing on the fan. When they go bad for whatever reason, it causes some lateral movement that makes a buzzing noise. Temps can do that.

Might have to be replaced.

I just wish they had kept the design of the third gen blower. That thing could a 150 degree car down in about 3-4 minutes. If anyone comes up with a mod (Antman) to improve the blower, let me know.

Some days I wish I could get my truck UP to 150 degrees!

I just posted on this. Somehow I missed this post!

i have the same issue. It's got to be the fan motor or something in the system making a noise. At full speed, it's bad enough that i turn it down. but overall i can hear it all the time.

I'm in the same boat. But I seem to notice mine more when it is cold out (below 30*F). Haven't mentioned anything yet to the dealer (although glad I bought the extended warranty as I have 42k miles after a short 15 months of owning the truck :wow.

my Tacoma used to do this. At one point it was a leaf particle that had been sucked in. maybe pull your in cabin air filter and check for debris.
