Blown hatch struts

Just wanted to pass on something that, while not common, seems to be occurring in the 5th gens. This past weekend, with 40k on the odometer, I was almost decapitated when the struts on the rear door gave out. Took it back to the dealer yesterday and I have to say, even though I'm out of warranty, they made the fix with no charge. I've owned Toyo's for years and have never had any issues, so I guess if this is the worse thing to happen, I'm doing pretty good.

Tuesday Next Week....

Well, the new heavy duty rear gas struts should be arriving next Tuesday. I am pretty "pumped" to get these bad boys in. Just got to find time to make the 4 hour drive.... for some struts!?

If the install and final outcome is a success I will post some detailed images and let you know where you can get them.
