Bluetooth Phone and Audio

Hello all....just bought a 2011 SR5 with some great upgrades and this truck is sweet. I spent all weekend figuring out all the stuff that came with it. Got it all down except one problem. I can get the phone to work through bluetooth and I can get the audio (pandora,etc) to work, but I cant get them to work at the same time. If I connect the phone the audio wont work and if the audio is connected the phone wont work. I have and HTC Hero. Any help would be much appreciated.

I have an HTC Thunderbolt that works with both bluetooth audio and phone in my 2010 4runner Ltd. If I get a call during playing music from the phone, the phone takes priority over the audio player.
If I remember correctly, I set up a bluetooth device in both audio & phone.
I used to have a Motorola Droid that worked flawlessly both audio & phone until I replaced the Droid with a Thunderbolt. I imagine the HTC hero works the same way.

My HTC Thunderbolt begins playing the first song on the phone everytime I connect it to my 2010 SR5 via Bluetooth. Is that normal? I find it pretty annoying to have to hit pause on it if the volume is up high, or if I want to listen to some other song or podcast. Is it possible to change that in some setting on either the stereo or on the phone?

I have an iphone so whatever I say may help or may not. Anyways, I set up my phone through the stereo's phone setup not Audio player setup. In your case maybe you set up both in which one is taking precedence over the other or you just set up the bluetooth Audio vs the phone setup.

I have set up the bluetooth Audio player with other ipods, and my ipad and yes when you have the stereo synced to an audio device it will not operate as a hands free phone.

i have an iPhone too. At first i setup my iphone to stream music first, then i tried to setup the phone, and i couldn't get them both to work at the same time. I deleted the music part, and just set up the phone part, when it asked you of you want to use the internal speakers say yes. Once i did that, my phone will connect so i can make and receive phone calls, but, also i can stream from the built in ipod on my iphone.

I got my rig on Monday, so pretty new as well. When I was at the dealer, I asked the sales monkey to help me set this up. When we did the initial setup, I remember the radio asking if I wanted to set up phone, radio, or both (basically what it asked). The monkey told me to say phone. Needless to say, it wouldn't play music unless I did exactly what you're describing... start over by deselecting the phone and selecting the radio.

I got a little sick of this. I found if I totally deleted all setup, started over, and told the radio I wanted to do both (phone and music), it worked perfectly.

Try deleting all phone settings, so you're back to factory settings with no connections. When you start fresh, pick "both" and you'll be good.

I guess you can reference the owners manual for official terms.

On my T-Mobile MyTouch Slide, I think I paired it phone mode first, then deleted the pairing on the phone only. I then paired it again for audio, without telling the phone part of the stereo.

That seems to work with every unit I have tried that with.
