BR-TY4RG5-LG-1-0 Baja Rack Install

Hi Guys, I was wondering if any of you have installed a Baja Rack BR-TY4RG5-LG-1-0 to a 5th Gen 4 Runner. I will greatly appreciate any tips on how to install it, thanks!!!

Literally just installed mine last night. Don't know the part number right off the top, but I have the utility rack. One thing I noticed was that the bolts that came with it to attach the mounting brackets were not long enough so I reused the stock bolts. I did use marine silicone around the posts and threads of the bolt as I am a bit weary of leaking. I made Baja aware that their bolts in the kit were about 1 inch too short (diameter was fine). Hope it holds up and It is great looking in my opinion! Was pretty easy to install and even the wife could help lift the rack up onto the truck (with the assistance of the curb on her side).

I've got one, must not have used enough silicone or goop, mine leaks, GOBI sent new mounting brackets but it is kind of a chore to change them alone...

Install is pretty much the same as the utility rack I think. Attach the front feet to the rack first, attach the other four feet to the truck, lift on and bolt the rack to the other four feet. I used silicone around the posts on the roof and wrapped the bolt threads with a turn of teflon tape to prevent leaking. One other thing that bothered me was the nice clean black rack with silver nuts, bolts, and washers. I just bought a small can of flat black Tremclad and a cheap artist's paintbrush to correct it.

I would be just as surprised as Ford selling Chevy's..... Gobi is a manufacturer; not a retailer. Gobi is in Aurora, CO, BajaRack is in San Diego, CA

Not saying that neither company hasn't had it's challenges, but I doubt they are supporting eachothers products.

I just used some RTV in and around the bolt holes under the mounting feet.

could you tell me how tall the rack is including the mounts???

The page says its 6" tall but I dont think that includes the mounts

The official response from Baja Rack: height of your rack from the top of the roof to the top of the rack is about 6.5”-7”.
