Brake Noise - Not what you're thinking...

This is happening usually in the morning or when cold and goes away as I drive.

It is a once per wheel rotation click, and as I slow down it is more of a "creak" right before I stop - only when the brake is applied. At first, I thought it was a suspension noise (at very low speed it sounds like an old leaf suspension type of creak). It sounds like it is coming from the driver side rear only.

I can't seem to replicate the noise once the vehicle is warmed up. Dealership said its no issue & to have them look at it during my next service (~1,500 more miles).

Thought I would ping you guys for any suggestions ('12 Ltd - 17.5k miles)

A small rock inside the Parking Brake Drum?

Probably a long shot, but could it be some type of hairline crack in the rotor that closes up once the breaks heat up? Tracking down stuff like this is always a PITA and even more so when your trying to get the dealer to find it. Last time I went in for my windshield creak and steering column knock, neither issues was solved. Now I am going to have to go back again....dammit!
