Brake Problem???

So...I didn't want my first post on here to be a question about a potential problem...but....

I let someone else drive my 2004 4-Runner today and she pointed something out that I had not noticed before...

On harder braking just as you come to a stop the brakes seem to hesitate, the best way I can explain how it feels is its like when you are towing a trailer and you come to a stop and the trailer pulls on the car a little...anyway, then when you let off the brakes it kinda shutters again...

I have the V8 with all wheel drive...I have never had a car with that before...so I don't know if this is normal or not...any help or comments would be apprieciated. Or, am I just being a girl and worrying too much???? :)

Hey Miss SLU,

What you are experiencing is the drive-shaft thump/clunk problem that is common among our 4R's.

I think the brake issue you are describing is related to this as well.

Read this discussion and you should get the answer you are looking for.

Aaaammmazing! That's it! I don't know if I will go as far as replacing the drive shaft just yet...but at least I can get that baby greased up enough so it stops for a little bit....thanks so much!!!!
