Brian2sun Build Thread

Yeah, it was a blast! When you think about it.. with all the shooting, drinking and general debauchery going on, Calico's still pretty much just like it was in the old west (except now we have sweet 4x4s to tear sh*t up in)! Jason said you guys went out there the weekend before and had a great time too. I've been meaning to stop by the AZ on Kendall and drop in to say hello. We should go wheelin sometime soon!

Was some good times in Calico as always. Stop in whenever you see the 4Runner parked outside! I've been wanting to hit up Pilot Rock again but will wheel anything fun.

I can only dream of one day having the time and money it would take to make my runner grow up to be like brian's.

Thank you for the pics, I can't do it myself but I love seeing just what these vehicles are capable of and the places they can go that I might never get the chance to see.

Sweet pics man, I'm still looking for some 35s. Maybe buy some new ones when tax season rolls around and sell the 285s. How well do them coopers balance?

Thanks Tom!

Thanks! I aired down to 15 this time. I think I'm going to try 20 next time. These tires are very pliable so I don't think I need to air them down as much. The sidewalls don't seem to be weak though. The rock out at Calico is very sharp, volcanic type rock, but when I rubbed the tires up against it, it wasn't phasing the tires so I don't think they puncture or split easily. They claim the ArmorTek is supposed to be 66% stronger than a normal sidewall. Have you had problems with your sidewalls?

Not at all, I've been airing down to around 20 and was just wondering if you were going any lower since I'm not really seeing any sidewall deformity. I'm still trying to figure out the sweet spot for these tires

That's good. Mine seem to form around the rocks maybe a little too much at 15 psi. My 315s are D rated, what are the 285s?

I know I'm a little late the party....but I really like what you've done to your ARB! I've never really liked the look of the ARB because it is so big...this makes a HUGE difference in my opinion. Nice work! :hatsoff:

Thanks man! I was about ready to sell the ARB and get a tube bumper for clearance, but I'm happy with it now! I think it looks a lot better and it definitely doesn't scrape on the rocks nearly as much.

I'm glad to see yet another alternative to the tube bumpers. I just don't like the look of them.

just wanted to say thank you again for letting me pick up the running boards yesterday! i woulda loved to stay and chat but i was really not expecting it to be THAT cold up there. HAHA!!

im excited to throw these on! even tho i dont have the flares yet, i may just toss em on today after a good cleaning :D

Yeah, it was freezing outside yesterday! Glad you can put them to use, they've just been sitting in my storage for years. Nice meeting you too!

Hey brian2sun I like the look of your 4runner and your build. How did you get the fenders to look like that? If you ever decide to sell your 4runner can I get dibs?
