Broken Antenna ** HELP **

Last night, someone must have disliked my "stubby" antenna on my 2011 SR5. Unfortunately, they didn't just remove it.... They decided to break it off at the base. Now, I have to figure out a way to remove the remnants.
Any ideas ??? The threads are broke flush where the antenna screws in.

If you can get a small drill into the broken stub bit you can drill a small hole and then re-thread the hole and thne try to back it out.
I'm sure there are better ideas but time will tell.

from what i recall Harper7 had some pics, if i remember correctly you have to remove the wheel well to get to it.

Drill a small hole into the base that is stuck. Run out to your local hardware store and get a reverse threaded screw. Try to screw it in. The torque should start backing out the stuck piece of antenna.

^^^ This is what I was going to suggest. Lot easier than taking the fender well liner out.

As stated they make "easy outs" to possibly driil a hole in the center and get it out.

But coming from experience , the stock steel stud is only 5mm, so trying to drill a hole in the center on something that small that has been broken off unclean will not be easy. The bit will want to walk on you.

The broken stud is down in the "Ornament" as it's called and is made of rubber. So,depending on how deep down it broke off, you may be able to get a hold of it with needle nose vise grips and back it out.

Mine is loose inside the fender and just spins so I need to get in here and fix mine too and will take pics of the how to. I have other more pressing mods up next though.
We have the repair manual and parts manual here on the forum. Your probably going to have to replace the receptacle.Here's the parts and numbers,but not sure if you need #8 and/or 9.

The T4R.org Gods must have been looking out for me. After closer inspection, I could tell the broken piece was not torqued too tight. In was able to take a small nail and apply a drop of superglue. I then glued the nail to the broken piece and 30 seconds later, I was able to back the broken piece out. Now it's off to Pep Boys to replace it. Thanks the advise. In was almost ready to try the reverse threads technique. THANKS ALL !!!!!!

After getting one off E-Bay, I still wasn't satisfied. Found a flexible 13" antenna at Autozone and it works great and gets good reception. It does bend when your going down the highway though.
