BudBuilt - Anyone have any success contacting them?

I do not understand why it is so hard to contact these companies. I have sent quite a few emails, contacted via the contact us on their page, and tried calling for the past week. Has anyone contacted BudBuilt successfully lately? I am wanting to order the sliders with kickouts and have a question but cannot get a response for the life of me. This is part of why BajaRack got my business over GOBI, I really do not want to move on to another slider that I like less than the BudBuilts because I cannot get a quick question answered before ordering :rant:

Wanted to clarify for those searching. This does not seem to be a normal issue with BudBuilt. Bud was sick and made contact with me and others here.

I called talked to someone last week, i was going to order skids and sliders after someone called me back with a final price with shipping. I gave all specs of what i wanted.. no call back... go figure. I will say the call went well.
In business, if you tell someone you'll call them later that day. DO IT.
If your busy, say so and get back to me at a later date.
 
What I do not get is why. I work in sales. If a client calls me, I call back. If I say I am going to call back, I call back. Not doing so could cost me the sale. And I am sure that there are a lot more people coming to spend money on my product than what is calling a company building something for such a small market, this makes their response that much more important. I do not want to trash them, that is not the point of the thread, I just want a return phone call or email.
 
I spoke with them on the phone 2 weeks ago. They are driving real hard to maximize their R&D with a 5th gen in house, trying to have stuff in production for next month. Maybe they are driving against that deadline?
 
Seems to me, at least in this truck accessory business....if you return a phone call, you eliminate 90% of your competition.

Not to bash BB... but I called twice about aluminum skids and sent one email.

I'll eventually find someone to take my money.
 
Keep calling--he has email but apparently spends more time in the shop than checking email. While it's not always easy to reach him when you do he's super helpful and was good to his word on what he could ship when. Of the shops I've dealt with OW is tops for customer service (Andriess reads and replies to his emails) and BB would be in second place even though he's not the best w/emails
 
I too had good communications with Bud but I do remember being annoyed when I complained about Gobi only to have others post that they had no issue so I feel your pain.

Like with Gobi I think Bud's products are worth the extra effort.
 
I sent 2 e-mail to him myself, never heard back.

Then again, some people are not e-mail people and don't check it or respond well, which is understandable, but don't put it on your site. Just tell people to call.
 
BB did not respond to my emails and thats just a little annoying. Not getting a call back after being told i'd get one is annoying.
Thats all i have to say on that.

Of course eventually i'll still order from them, once i get a chance to place a damn order.
 
just cuz someone can make badass toyota gear does not automatically give them great business skills :)

Any updates?

I found out yesterday that my wife ordered a set of BB sliders from them for my birthday. She ordered online in mid February and has been unable to reach anyone since. She's had no reply to emails. They don't answer he phone and their voicemail mailbox is full.
 
I have called every day for a week and left a message twice. I got a message on Facebook that Bud has been sick. I am really hoping that I get a hold of them. I do not know the extent of his sickness, and I am surprised that there is nobody else working there. Hoping there is not something that is serious wrong with him.
 
Their non existent customer service is highly laughable. It sucks that no one else makes bump out sliders. Maybe we can get Shrockworks to make some since they actually pick up the phone and answer emails.

EDIT: Bud has been sick for about 2 weeks. He's now just getting his voice back.

On the flip side, Shrockworks also takes a few months to make them I have heard. All companies have their faults, but I agree, communication is one of the most important things, second to a quality product.
 
I just emailed SW to get the lead time for what I am wanting. The post about placing an order mid Feb and still not a peep from BudBuilt is definitely swaying me. If they are this hard to get a hold of to take my money, what happens when they have it :hunter: Really sucks because I love the bump out, but I am running out of patience.

Soooooo sorry for all the missed calls and voice mails. I've been sick and not in the shop for the past 5 days. I'm back but with limited voice so we'll have everything caught up soon and all calls and emails returned.
 
I was ready to cancel my order or even dispute it through paypal because there was no answer, callback and email back after I bought my bumpout sliders. But yesterday I called and bud answered with a very ****ty voice, and explained he was sick and all. They said they are going to ship the sliders yesterday and they did and it will arrive tomorrow. So for what its worth just a little more patience and it will be worth it.
 
the guy was sick,,, Ive always had nothing but GREAT communications with him, fair pricing, awesome products, and a toyota guy to boot.
I personally would never, give my slider money to anyone else but BB :lookout:

This must have just been put there. Like I mentioned earlier, he sent me a message on Facebook telling me earlier last week. Seems that his sickness carried on for awhile.
