After seeing the TRD pro thread blow up, I've learned marketing is everything, so....everyone loves a tease right?
Told you guys it was really really close, lol. Let me sort out the details and do a test fitment and write up, so that I can give everyone some concrete and detailed answers/pictures.
Right off the bat, I think I can safely say that this would only work on 2010-2012, unless you guys figure out how to relocate that smog pump taking up all the space behind the passenger headlight. Sorry 2013+ folks

I must say this whole tray system is a VERY clever design and well thought out. Should be 100% bolt-on with no hacking of your OEM P/S bracket; and the best part is, 100% reversible (this was one of the reasons holding me back with the ABR tray).
I now understand why it took a while to get this bad boy to fruition, but I have to say it is well worth the wait, IMO

The good news: I got my BB Battery Tray in the mail!
The bad news: My 2013 has the smog pump in the way.:rant:
It looks like the smog pump can be relocated to the other side of the air filter box by creating a new mounting bracket to tie into existing threads coming from the sheet metal in that area. The wiring harness is plenty long enough and comes from the near the firewall so the only tricky piece would be running a new hose from the pump to the Tee near the front of the engine. Other than that, it looks like Bud designed in a bracket mount for the power steering reservoir.

Here is where I'd like to relocate the pump.
Now I'll have to figure out a bracket to fit down there and move some of the cable harnesses out of the way.

So it looks as if the base is two pieces. Do you bolt the lower piece in then drop the upper in and set the battery on top of that? Also how tall is the base? Is the space between the top and bottom designed to be used for something specific such as routing wires or mounting something?

I think it was ~1" taller or so? It was really late last night when I got around to unpacking and I got too tired to mess around with it, but I will get specific measurements and all that good stuff for you, hopefully over the weekend.
I don't think the space is designed for routing wires, probably just to clear the a/c line rubber isolator thing. And yes, you bolt the bottom plate down to the chassis and the top piece sits inside it. Then the J clamps hold the two together.

So, are those 2 trays for testing only, or does this mean Bud has them ready for production?
I've got a trip coming up in a month, and am really hoping to have my dual battery setup in place by then.

Had a few minutes just now to go over and test fit my battery and snap a few more pictures for you guys. Battery is a Diehard Platinum Group 35, it fits like a glove depth wise and an extra 1"-1.5" width wise. Anyway, here it is sitting in the tray:
This is the clearance with the battery completely centered on the tray. As you can see no more room front to back but you can probably go with a slightly wider battery if need be.
I promise to do an in depth write-up for you guys once I've had a chance to pull the truck into the garage and tear in to it. Weather's real snowy and icy out currently, so I can't afford to have the 4runner out of commission at the moment, sorry! Should have some time in the next few days so stay tuned

Small update: Sorry guys I haven't forgotten about this. I did test out the tray install and everything pretty much fit great! The only "modding" you need to do is bend the A/C hard line downwards about 1/2"-3/4" to clear the P/S pump. This is no issue at all since the line is very long and the bend can be gradual. It just need's to drop down that much by the time it reaches the front of the engine bay (where it mounts to the rubber isolator).
I just got caught up with all this bad weather we've been getting around here lately and haven't had a chance to post pics. Don't worry, I took a lot of pictures and will post a thread about it once I have some time to sit down and write it up! :cheers:

I'm guessing that Bud can do a Group 31 sized tray for the OEM position fairly easy, but there is no real slack in the cables, even with the terminals flattened (which you need to do to make them fit anyway).
Anyone talking to Bud any time soon? I'm going to have to see if the Mrs will approve the expense... (Dave Ramsey is not helping my truck budget for the next two years...)
