BudBuilt Sliders with mud flaps (need order help)

Hi,
Can anyone with BudBuilt sliders verify that the factory mud flaps fit without rubbing or need modding? I am getting ready to order my sliders (bump out beefy) and called Bud but they said check a forum for feedback. I did a search but could not get a clear view of the 4 mud flaps in question. Also was thinking of ordering raw and doing line-x, any thoughts ?

On a trail edition, the front mud flap fits with plenty of room to spare, but there's this tiny rear mud flap looking thing that need's to come off to fit the slider. I don't know the technical term for it, but if you go look under the side of the vehicle it's directly in front of the rear wheel well arch. It's roughly 1" tall and 3-4" wide and held on with two screws.

Sorry didn't see the rest of your post, as far as line-x or not, one thing you should consider is how often do you plan to slide on them and rub off the coating? If it's often Line-x might not be the most cost effective....on the other hand if you're just using it as steps then it might be a nice durable solution.

One popular DIY paint for sliders would be spray on Rustoleum bed liner, super easy to touch up and won't break the bank (~7-8 bucks a can, need about 2-3 cans for two sliders)

I ordered my sliders powder coated and they have held up really well. My skid plates I painted myself and they get scratched and rust easily.

Since the sliders show, I think it is worth the $ to get powder coated.

I got the partial tread plating. I like it. Gives me something to stand on. Sometimes I wish I had full tread plating. It would keep more mud from getting flung on the body.

However, I can use the sliders w/o the full plating to attach dog leashes to the truck easily to control the beast(s). As seen in this photo. http://rhino4runnersuspension.shutterfly.com/pictures/2423

Skipping the linex but still not sure about the diamond plate step pads. I was originally going without. Then partial, Now might go all the way.

I thought about the other benefit of partial tread plating. In addition to a place to hook dog leashes it gives you a place to hook a line for vehicle recovery.... So maybe partial is the best option. :shrug:

Not sure if this helps your decision process, but after having had my full tread bumpouts on for a few months, I can say that the rear tread plate is almost a must if you intend to use it as a step for rear seat passengers (keep in mind it's almost impossible to step out of the vehicle from the rear seats w/o stepping on the bumpout, unless you are 7 ft tall or have really long legs )

The bumpout portion sticks out quite a bit and is most likely big enough to slip your entire foot through there if you are not careful, whereas the front portion its just so so and you'd probably have to try hard to get your foot caught in there without a tread plate.

Also, the rear tread plate makes it a ton easier to step up on the bumpout and get stuff off the roof rack too. I would imagine if it was just an open bar, positioning your feet and reaching over the roof might be a bit awkward due to how far out the bumpout outer edge is from the vehicle.
