Build assistance - Feedback on suspension choices for my usage.

I got the suspension ordered. I ended up going with the Bilstein 5100, Eibach 1.6" front springs and the Sway-A-Way 1.5" Eibach rear springs. I will set the Bilstein front at .85". I grabbed a top plate spacer just in case I get the lean. Here's to hoping the alignment works out and I don't have to go back and re-do the work and install Camburg/Moog UCA's.

Excellent, I think you will be happy with your choice. If you happen to need UCA's to get the caster within spec, it is not a big deal to do after the fact. You will just need another alignment, obviously.

Why hasn't anyone suggested a Hi Lift? I think it's more versatile for solo use than a winch or a come along.

I have Fox 2.5 DSC in the rear and they are very nice, but I think it's complete overkill for the OP's use.

They are. Problem is if you give a Hi Lift to 99% of the people and tell them to use it to get their truck unstuck their truck will still be stuck three days from now.

If you treat the Hi Lift with the respect it deserves and learn how to use it properly it's one of the best self-recovery tools out there. A come along and winch can be just as dangerous if not used properly. You need to learn how to use any recovery tool properly in a controlled situation - not at 3am miles from civilization and out of cell phone range

My vote is still for a Hi Lift with Lift Mate and winch kit, maybe one of those fancy base plates too. A winch won't help if you're high centred, but you can jack and stack rocks with the Hi Lift.

We've got some teaching time set aside. Any recommendations on a winch kit for strapping and rope to use with the high lift?

I just got a hi lift, base plate and lift mate given to me by my brother whom just got out of Jeepin. Its only been used a few times. Now I just need to learn how to use it. We've got some teaching time set aside. Any recommendations on a winch kit for strapping and rope to use with the high lift?

First, go over the jack to make sure everything is in proper working order. Here's a video on maintaining the jack, which you'll probably want to do right off the bat.

If you need to replace the climbing pins you can get a Fix-It kit from Hi Lift. Here's a tutorial my friend wrote on replacing them:

When you use the Hi Lift as a winch, make sure in this case that you're using a tow strap or winch extension strap - something with no stretch - rather than a recovery strap.

Haha. I saw them in the classifieds. I am happy with the strength/bead retention of stock Toyota wheels. Plus i am a fan of the clean, stealth, OEM look. You guys should reply to my tire thread.
