Me too! And as always, I'll share the next adventures with you all! The ride is nice. Definitely different. Firmer, but in a good way. I'll be writing a post soon on my website as to why I upgraded and my impressions post-installation so stay tuned!
Proper lift... Proper mic drop... Problem?

As for the platform, that's a winter project of mine. Lot's of work over the summer has been keeping me busy... I'll get to it as soon as I can.

I would have loved for nothing more than for me to come back full LT, 35's, full armor.... a true zero to hero scenario... Sadly, my bank account can't sustain that kind of hemorrhaging. So I GUESS this will have to do :biggrin1:

Awesome, glad you found it! It'll likely be in the next week or so. Work keeps me busy, so all of this 4R nonsense is after hours
I'll post something up as soon as it's posted on my website!I called it like I saw it. I remember that speech and that mic drop so in my mind it was very political. And it was not a gif of "someone". That "someone" is extremely political in everything he does including that mic drop. YMMV. Obviously.

I followed your lead and did a year on the stock suspension before going to kings. It was a very good experience and I learned a lot by just leaving everything alone for a while.
Of course, those days are gone.

Thanks! Good to know I'm not the only one that waited a long time to upgrade :bounce:
I'll be reducing the preload on the CO's to soften up the ride over smaller objects, and to bring the nose down a bit. Should drive like a dream afterwards!

King Suspension Upgrade
I am currently working on a more extensive write-up discussing the research that went into the upgrade, but for now I'll share the basic details!
Coilovers: King OEM Performance Series 2.5, extended travel, no compression adjusters, 12 turns on preload collar.
Note: This is being reduced to 6-8 turns in a week. The ride is currently too stiff, and a bit too tall. Target height is 2.25"
Upper control arms: Total Chaos Uniball, Poly bushings
Rear shocks: King OEM Performance Series 2.5, extended travel, no compression adjusters
Rear coils: Dobinsons 2" lift, KDSS specific, standard weight rating (10-15% over stock)
Lower links: Metal Tech 4x4 offset rear links (Thanks, [MENTION=89562]bimrunner[/MENTION] !)
I ordered and had everything installed at Califabrication in Sacramento. I had saved enough for the suspension plus installation and really just wanted to have it done for me because while I trust my ability to work on the rig, I wanted to have it done correctly with less risk of me breaking something during install. Chance, the owner, was great to work with on both ordering and installing.
On my first test run the next day, the new shocks performed well. The added clearance was very welcome, and the bump dampening at speed over larger objects was very nice. Low speed and smaller objects the ride was a bit stiff which is why I am adjusting the preload. I gave the shop that installed them my parameters of 2 to 2.5" of lift. They set the preload to what they have found to be about 2.5" of lift, but ended up being closer to 3". I didn't measure the after until about a week later, so after talking with King and the installer we're reducing the preload to between 6 and 8 turns which should put me just over 2" of lift. This will give me a softer ride, and will put less stress on my components in the long run. I should have done more research on the front end myself so I could be more specific with the installer, but you live and learn.
I'll update this after the adjustment with some after photos and thoughts on the difference in ride quality. I will also update when I have completed the larger suspension upgrade piece that I'm working on.
