I like the looks of that. Good spot for lights too. I think the headlights look a lot better without the black.

Butt Fugly. Will also compromise your approach angle, Which is important if you go off road.
Would look great with a bag drop and some 22" spinnerz, though. Baddest 4runner at the mall.
Edited to Add: If the lights are decent it might be worth $40 just for those. Pull the lights off and sell the bar on CL.

Pretty much...
Bull bars are a mod that actually makes your 4Runner LESS off-road capable than stock. Angle of approach is pretty fracking important :whipping2

I'd put the $40 towards getting my hood repainted...
X5 or whatever everyone else is saying. I have a brush guard that i loved at first, but got sick of it after seeing all these bad A bumpers. It is now half of a brush guard and its getting me by, but i still dont really like it. I wish i would of saved the $$ to buy some sliders or skids or something useful
but again its up to you! its your truck and were not all building our trucks to look like a Zombie Apocalypse Assult Vehicles

BTW, I do have to agree though, it does hurt your approach angle...but if you're not really wheelin it, and simply like the look of a bull bar....go for it!

I know and for the record I prefer the looks of the current front-end setup that you have. I was just saying that I didn't mind the looks of that bull bar. It was a nice and low-profile design.

Ya I liked the look of yours too fightman. Im not a fan of chrome, and yours looked like a polished steel or aluminum, not chrome. My runner is my only vehicle and daily driver, and all I can afford right now. So Im not gonna be killing it off road. For me its just a versitile vehicle I can do everthing I need to with. Camping, fishing, light weight towing, commuting, driving to the ski resorts and mountain bike trails back west, driving the orv trails in the mountains, etc. But I didnt buy it to abuse as I dont have that kind of money right now, so the bull bar was just cause I like the look. Oh, and I hate malls. I dont think Ive been to a mall in at least 4 years :surfer:

Interesting perspectives. Around here in a parallel parking situation, most people pull forward until they hit someone or something, then backup until the do the same. This is why I have a bullbar and always leave my tow ball in. I don't do it, but it protects me from the aholes that do.

While your hitch certainly will protect you, your bullbar will not. Correct me if I am wrong but this is the setup correct:
hitch receiver is attached to hitch assembly which is either welded or bolted to the frame.
Your bullbar is attached/mounted to the front bumper which collapses easily => the bullbar is not directly attached to the frame. When you hit something with the bullbar it will bend and twist the front bumper causing both the bullbar and bumper to be ruined. It is not protecting anything and now it will cost even more to fix. I am not the first to point this out.

I see your point, and you are absolutely correct, at higher speeds. I'm talking taps, for lack of a better word, that occur when people are getting in and out of spaces. It's better than nothing. Mine is a dd, hunting, fishing, camping etc rig, I'd prefer to avoid needless dings.
I can see those that wheel the hell out of theirs wouldn't bother with it, but it works for me.

Nope. Not with mine. It attaches to the frame at the same spot the tow hooks are bolted. But still, its not intended for structural integrity. Not why I bought mine

Mine was also bolted to some brackets that I had welded to my frame....it was pretty solid, but the bar itself is not made of the thickest of steel. I got mine for esthetics purposes....far before I had lifted the truck and put mud tires on it. I still don't wheel mine often, and would probably still be rockin the light bar I had, but found it sat too low below my bumper.....This bull bar should look pretty good on the OP's rig......Can't wait to see it installed man!

In fact, I'm pretty sure they sell them packaged together: Bull bar, truck nutz, Calvin-peeing-on-logo-of-hated-sports-team sticker, and a chrome, stick-on hood scoop for good measure. :bravo:
