bumper replacement alternatives?

So, my 2015 TE got bumped last night.
Not too horrible of a bump, but bad enough to break plastic tabs, pop the bumper cover out of alignment.

i've popped most of it back, in place, but with the pins missing bumper won't fit right.

Which leads me to a few questions...

1) approximately what kind of $$ am I looking at to replace the bumper cover?
2) what are the aftermarket alternatives that are not too heavy/will not affect MPG too drastically?
2a) what kind of suspension update would I have to use that bumper?

My truck was hit in a parking lot a few weeks ago. Surface scraping only to the grey lower center piece and the coloured upper piece. No deep scratches, no dents, no broken tabs. Auto body shop said it would just require sanding and painting. They quoted $1030 Cdn just to do that. So I figure to replace the cover will be much more, especially if it needs painting additionally.

I took the payout settlement from my insurance, and will wait until I can save up another $1k or so to possibly get an aluminum bumper. Meanwhile, I should be able to sand/paint it decent enough myself for now. I had already bought the Undercover Winch mount "bumper", so now that it's scraped up, I won't mind cutting through the lower grey piece so much.

Check out the bumper sticky thread. Depending on what piece is damaged, you could get the SSS bumper which replaces the middle section. I believe it's only 70lbs minus whatever the weight is of what you're taking off. I would think if you're doing that, you won't need to upgrade your suspension at all. If you're adding a winch, that adds more weight. Steel bumpers are around 140lbs. Aluminum bumpers around 60lbs. Someone else had suggested, get a 100lb kid to sit on your front bumper. How much it drops will give you an idea of how your front will handle the additional weight.

Or maybe you could buy someone else's stock bumper that upgraded theirs if you want to keep it stock.

I saw the bumper thread, but I need a rear one, and it covers front.
I'll look through manufacturers, though.

I haven't looked at new 4runners, but it's pretty common to pay around $500 plus shipping cost for a pre-painted OEM bumper cover to match your color. That's what it cost for a Lexus bumper cover from a Lexus dealer pre-painted. I suspect the 4runner will be about the same.

It's important to recognize that it'll never match perfectly. It doesn't really matter how good the paint is even if it's an OEM bumper with OEM matched paint - it's not the same as the original and over time you'll likely be able to see some difference in color. Probably not enough to bother most people, but something you should know.

I appreciate the insight; i'm going to swing by my dealership sometime this week, but want to explore a possibility of exploring an aftermarket set up.

I looked through the vendors mentioned in above post, and not seeing much of a selection in terms of rear bumpers.

Local buddy here just bought the cover unpainted for ~$250. He's having it painted locally. Probably end up in that $500 range.

You can easily swap the part yourself. Only takes about 20 mins.

A 2mph hit in mpg from stock will be an extra ~$700 in gas over the next 5yr
(@ 10k mi/yr, $2.50/gal, 20mph->18mpg)

Not something to 'worry' about, but something to consider when looking at total cost of upgrades.

CBI, Hefty, Shrockworks, BudBuilt, and one more I know I'm forgetting all make 5th gen rear bumpers. Search around and you should find pics of them installed.
