Keep taking pics of the affected area and keep a log of how you feel, as I am sure you are already doing, both on this site and mentally. Symptoms can help a Dr. diagnose something like this much easier, since the spider is no longer available for examination.

Hobos aren't around here. They're all over in the Pacific Northwest, having been introduced into the area in the late 1940's.
They're also darker, more conventionally shaped abdomen. The only thing the recluse spider and the t. agrestis share is poor eyesight, being funnel weavers, and bite effects. It's not really a venom, it's more a digestive enzyme, which is why it melts you.
This being said, the Mediterranean recluse is more commonly reported than the brown recluse west of the Shenandoahs.
But in the end, it doesn't matter. You got bit by something, it it got infected. All the recluse and hobo bites have had a lot more necrosis, with blackening around there, so although the second picture looks a bit more like it, I'll still call non-venomous to humans spider with a dirty mouth.
BTW, I capture and keep spiders for a while, and am generally enthralled by arachnids of all sorts. Right now we have a common jumping spider with their pretty green/blue chelicerae. At the campground we captured a gypsy moth caterpillar (at least it looked like that initially), which is pupating now. If indeed a Gypsy moth, it'll be spider food.

Like seriously. Just be careful packing stuff. Just because it looks like I have lyme disease it does not stop me from running out into the woods every weekend.

Doctors are as useful as t**s on a bull when you have insect bites, or anything uncommon for that matter. Half of them don't even read JAMA or any other publications on new developments.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone.
This is NOT part of camping. Feel free to camp in the beautiful warm days as you wish. I will not. This is an experience that I wish to endure this one time only.
Cold camping, I love you.
PS- After 5 hrs(!) in the ER tonight without even seeing a Doctor, I quite literally walked out. I spoke to the charge nurse after I calmed down at home. The saga continues.
I was in there long enough to stop puking, at least.

Just not a whole lot to do for it if it was truly a recluse. No antivenom, no tests for the venom. Mostly symptomatic tx with pain/fever relief, cold compress, limb elevation, surgery consult if needed, antibiotics if you have cellulitis.
The enzyme is sphingomyelinase, which breaks down sphingomyelin, which is involved in a few things including cell membranes...ie the necrosis. Cold compresses can help slow down the necrotic action.
Anyways, hope you start feeling better and see some relief soon.

Looks like you and I are the only cold weather loving guys on here! Colder the better. Got to have a couple good freezes before I start camping.
I like when it's about 5 deg and still as can be with a big fire roaring in front of me when I camp.

I hope you get better soon. Did they five you any Phenergan for nausea? Might help if the pain meds are making you sick, hopefully it is not the bite.
I hate spiders. I seem to remember it takes over 30 straight days of constant sub 28 degree temps to begin killing brown recluse spiders.

We love it. In Oct 2011 we camped in PA, NY, Ontario, and Quebec. In a tent. The little blond guy loved it. I actually want to get up to Lake Charles provincial park again when it's above freezing, since then mom will let him go swimming.
