Can I get the headlamps replaced for TSB-081-12

I recently noticed the oxidation on top of the headlamps. I did not see anything unusual at the front.

I wonder if I can bring the car to dealer to get them replaced. My car is 3.5 years old, the warranty has expired.

I've read that you still need to be within the original wty.

Print it out and go to your dealer.

In reality, it's up to Toyota policy, not the dealer. If T. won't provide the parts (not cheap) and pay for the labor (easily a few hours) it won't happen.

When I brought my vehicle in, the first thing they checked was the VIN to see if warranty was still active. I doubt any dealership will do it for free. The replacement parts are several hundred dollars and it's probably a couple hours labor as well. Won't hurt to ask, but I wouldn't count on it.

If you're out of warranty, the best bet is to go to the dealer with a hat-in-hand, please help me attitude.

While they might not be able to cover it on the TSB a clever service writer might be able to come up with something if he likes you or feels sorry for you and really wants to help.
