Can't decide whether I should plasti-dip my wheels...

Here is my 07 SE as is:

I used Photoshop and rendered this which is what I anticipate it would look like after I plasti-dip the wheels black. Let me know which one you like better. I am still undecided.

ADDITION: plasti-dipped wheels spray painted titanium or some sort of dark gray.

As Doozi stated, it is reversible so you can change it if you don't like it.

Don't do it its ugly. You know that stuff is bound to come off when you go off road and you scrap something. What about wheel balance, do they make sure that thing is balanced out. Maybe if i was 21 and didn't care, but I guess I'm getting old. Guy at work had it done and said it made the wheels vibrate. just saying

I would think you would have to put quite a lot on to unbalance your wheel. Even so, get em balanced. If they get scraped up off road, keep a can in z runner and give it a spray. As stated before, if you dont like it, pull it off, no harm done. I have been debating for a while myself. I have the SR5 wheels though. Would like to see a set of those done

"To each his own", but the wheels look good as they are. Maybe if you had a play set to put back on, but I think dipped is ugly. Don't mean to offend anyone that has it, just saying, and bored at work.

You can also do like i did, plasti-dip and then paint over the dip. Mine has held up great so far.

And yes it removes easily, tried my spare first.

I did it in Sept I believe, roughly 8000 miles on dip and paint, no wheeling. Haven't had any chips or peeling yet. Stuff is on there very well. Had lots of compliments and some people ask how to do it.

Very glad thats the route I went, cool thing is, i can paint a different color or peel off.

Not too long. I didn't time it but I was doing a few different things at the same time. I blacked out all the emblems and redid my grille. I didn't end up taking the wheels off. I just painter taped the pad a rotor. SO much easier that way. I would say it took about 3 hours or soo. It was also cold so the first coat didnt dry as fast. Once you get a solid coat on, it dries up much quicker. I'm happy with it. Especially since it was only 18 bucks! Took about 3 cans.
