Not from their own website ad which also represented a Limited and only disclaims "absolute accuracy," and then one can argue if Limited vs SR5 is minutia under "absolute accuracy" or a gross inaccuracy, most would go with the latter.

No ad disclaimer helps with their on-site representation of it as a Limited.

But hopefully, none of it matters and an amicable solution is reached.

Make sure to keep a copies of the ads, the window sticker, and any written communications to you stating it was a limited. As stated earlier, the ads alone probably won't be enough, but could help to paint a picture in your favor Luckily the standard to prove deception (while not written into the AZ consumer protection statute) has a low bar based on case law. Hopefully it won't get that far, and the dealer will take care of you. Let us know how it works out.

It wasn't a "feature" or an "option" that was wrong. They misstated the model which isn't mentioned in their disclaimer...

The model is a 4Runner. The trim is what was misstated.

I am glad it worked out for you and sounds like you are a common-sense person. BTW: Did you get the complimentary lifetime oil changes and tire rotations? On a more serious note, did you figure out what maintenance you will have to perform to make your SR5P more lean and mean?

could they have done more due diligence and noticed the photo? maybe. but that doesn't absolve the dealer of responsibility.

I never said he needs to suck it up. My view has only been that this problem would have been very easily avoided with the smallest level of effort related to product education.

That's gotta be one of the worst analogies I've read in awhile. Not even close to the situation here. A better one would be, if a jewelry store was selling diamonds @$500 a karat and advertised it as FL, but it turned out to be VVS1. Then is the customer wrong for buying what he thought was FL? Should the customer have known it was VVS1?

To many here on the forums, it's obvious that the original picture was an SR5, but if I were to show the a picture of an SR5 and a Limited to my girlfriend, she wouldn't have a clue...

I think we both should keep our day jobs, I can not tell without specialized equipment or training what a FL vs VVSI diamond is, can you? I CAN tell what a SR5 vs Limited 14+ front end looks like from ~438feet at 50mph.

He saw the photo's and spent the money so who picked it up doesn't really matter, in the end what you think or what I think doesn't matter OP is happy and part of the 4runner club so one more 4runner still on the road :surfer:
